WHISPERING GALLERY EXHIBIT Whispering Gallery. Even before they moved into the White House, the Lincolns were criticized and attacked from all sides – personally and politically. They were seen as uncouth Westerners who had no business being in Washington. Lincoln was elected with only 39% of the vote and generally remained unpopular throughout his presidency. To EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION EXHIBIT At the end of this hallway is seen the figure of Lincoln standing over a table, pen in hand, weighing his options in releasing the Emancipation Proclamation. Arrayed along the walls behind him are a dozen different printed versions as they were eventually presented around the country. Above Lincoln is a shadow play tug-o’-war, thesetowering
LINCOLN FORENSIC STUDY Lincoln Study. The earliest photographs of Abraham Lincoln show him in his thirties. The Museum designers wanted to accurately present Lincoln three dimensionally, not only in his thirties and older but also at earlier ages, for the immersive exhibits. The Lincoln Library committee of historians recommended reference photographs. CAMPAIGN OF 1860 EXHIBIT Campaign 1860. How to clearly explain the complex and messy four-way 1860 presidential campaign to a modern audience? The solution became one of the more daring and imaginative exhibits in the museum. It is a striking example of the use of 21st century technology and language to bring 19th century ideas to life. Presented at the Union Theater, Lincoln’s Eyes is a fully-automated theatrical special effects spectacular presenting the personal and political dramas and key issues of Lincoln’s presidency, especially slavery. The story is told by an artist, commissioned to create the painting of Lincoln for the front of theUnion Theater.

LINCOLN'S LOG CABIN EXHIBIT The Log Cabin. The original one-room boyhood log cabin home of Lincoln no longer exists. Our cabin is based on what little is known about the Lincoln Boyhood Home in Indiana, 1818 - the third log cabin in which young Lincoln lived with his family after they moved from Kentuckywhere he was born.
