LESS ENERGY USE, MORE BUILDING OWNER SAVINGS In December 2020, Legat became one of only 54 firms to receive an AIA Chicago 2030 Badge for reporting energy use data in 2019. Our projects achieved on average a 47% predicted Energy Use Intensity (EUI) reduction and a 59% reduction in lighting power density. This means that Legat-designed projects consume less energy and create more savings than the national average. Legat’s involvement in this program stems back to 2009, when we became one of the first 80 US firms to sign the AIA 2030 Commitment. The framework aims to make the design of net-zero energy buildings a standard practice by 2030. advanced manufacturing in the works A former Lowe’s home improvement warehouse in Gurnee, Illinois will soon resurface as College of Lake County’s Advanced Technology Center.
