HEAVY FOUNDATIONS
Weak, compressible soils may require structural elements, specifically heavy foundations, that transfer loads through to underlying competent soils or rock. Whether an open site or inside an existing structure, Keller can provide the optimal heavy foundation solution for your project. This solution is also used when tensile forces need to be transferred to the ground.BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Process. A number of different processes can be used to install piles for bridge construction and repair. If executed from a barge, the first step is to install a temporary casing, vibrated into the bottom of the body of water to the depth at which it will be sufficientlystable. A
JET GROUTING
The jet grouting process constructs soilcrete panels, full columns, or partial columns with designed strength and/or permeability. The soilcrete geometry and physical properties are designed based on the in-situ soils. Because it is an erosion-based system, soil erodibility plays a major role in predicting geometry, quality, and production.JETTY CONSTRUCTION
The permanent structure of the jetty on the current span. The slabs of the jetty on the former span. Allowing incremental construction from shore in this way makes this process fast and cost-effective, and provides a value-for-money solution. ROCK / FISSURE GROUTING Process. Grout is typically injected in isolated stages from boreholes drilled using rotary percussive drills. Reduction in permeability is a function of the grouting material, the rock and grout design. Rock grouting is typically performed with general purpose, ultra-fine ormicro-fine Cement.
MASS MIXING
The mass soil mixing process is typically constructed in pre-defined ‘cells’ of the order of 4m x 4m in plan area. Commonly the cells are mixed adjacent to others to form a 100% mass stabilised zone, all with a designed strength and stiffness. Soils vary widely in their ability to be mixed, depending on the soil type, strength, water LIQUEFACTION MITIGATION Liquefaction mitigation. Liquefaction is a common problem in earthquake-prone areas where soils lose strength due to the ground motion and behave like a viscous liquid, damaging overlying structures. Liquefiable soil does not mean a site has to be abandoned, or that heavy foundations are required. DIAPHRAGM WALLS / BARRETTES Diaphragm walls are constructed using grabs or cutters to create a narrow trench excavation into the ground. The trench is supported by an engineered slurry. Generally diaphragm walls are made from reinforced concrete, though unreinforced walls can also be used. Joints in adjacent panels are formed using either an over-cut (secant)technique or

Liquefiable soil does not mean a site has to be abandoned, or that heavy foundations are required.WET SOIL MIXING
Mass wet soil mixing, or mass stabilisation, is performed with a horizontal axis rotary mixing tool at the end of a track hoe arm. The binder slurry is injected through a feed pipe attached to the arm. This process constructs individual soilcrete columns, rows of overlapping columns or 100% mass stabilisation, all with a designedstrength and
PERMEATION GROUTING
Permeation grouting, also known as cement grouting or pressure grouting, fills cracks or voids in soil and rock and permeates coarse, granular soils with flowable particulate grouts to create a cementedmass.
COMPACTION GROUTING
An injection pipe is inserted, typically to maximum treatment depth, and the grout then injected as the pipe is slowly removed in lifts, creating a column of overlapping grout bulbs. The expansion of the grout bulbs displaces surrounding soils and the grouting increases the density, friction angle, and stiffness of surrounding granular soils. POLYURETHANE GROUTING Process. The polyurethane grout is injected under low pressure through or adjacent to a slab of foundation. The grout then expands to fill the crack or void. Polyurethane grouts can be single or multi-component, and can require a reactant or react when encounteringwater.
