Explain Yourself. I had a long discussion with a friend the other day about the notion of a “graphic designer” as it applies to web design. She opined that graphic design is largely relegated to static mediums and that online we are designing for interaction and behavior.ON WEB TYPOGRAPHY
On Web Typography. Well, it only took nearly a hundred issues since working on the A List Apart redesign for me to get around to writing an article. I’ve had a blast working behind the scenes working with authors on fleshing out the visuals for their articles, but after repeated kindly nudges from the rest of the ALA staffers, I wrote oneof
INTRODUCING TYPEDIA
My friends offered up a shared response: “Well, do it.”. Today, I’m very pleased to announce the launch of a new site I put together with the generous help of friends called Typedia. At its simplest, Typedia is a shared encyclopedia of typefaces. Think of it as All Music or IMDb for type, but created and curated by everyone. RESPONSIVE RESPONSIBILITY Designer by day, designer by night. Just over four years ago Ethan Marcotte penned the article “Responsive Web Design”, and a year later we published his book by the same name at A Book Apart. It’s no stretch to say that both have gone on to shape the very way we design websites now. JASON SANTA MARIAARTICLESPORTFOLIOREADINGABOUTRESPONSIVERESPONSIBILITYSAVED
