English/Française On the occasion of the 12th Bamako Photography Encounters in Mali, Invisible Borders Trans-African Project, as part of its presence in the Festival, will be organising a Masterclass facilitated by Emeka Okereke. INVISIBLE BORDERS: THE TRANS-AFRICAN PROJECT Partners & Affiliates. The Invisible Borders Trans-African Photography Project kicked off without a proposal for funding to any organisation. It was first funded by INVISIBLE BORDERS’ ARTISTIC DIRECTOR BECOMES A CHEVALIER On Saturday, 27th October 2018, Nigerian photographer, filmmaker, writer and visual artist, Emeka Okereke, was conferred France’s prestigious insignia of Chevalier De l’Ordre Des Arts et Des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the Ministry of Culture of France. The award ceremony took place at the new Alliance Francaise, Lagos. The event was officiated by the Ambassador of INVISIBLE BORDERS AT CENTRE GEORGE POMPIDOU, PARIS The Centre Pompidou is presenting the first edition of Cosmopolis: a new type of event dedicated to artistic practices that combine research and expertise-sharing. This platform, consisting of exhibitions, talks, performances and conversations, puts the spotlight on these new practices and creates conditions for exploring the social, urban and political questions they raise. Cosmopolis gives LAGOS – MAPUTO: THE EIGHTH EDITION OF INVISIBLE BORDERS In 2018, Invisible Borders Trans-African project will embark on the 8th edition of its artistic Road Trip Project. The Road Trip this time, will be a Trans-African one encompassing countries, towns, villages, and Trans-African highways between Lagos (Nigeria) and Maputo (Mozambique) within a period of 95 days, from August 20 to November 23, 2018."/> INVISIBLE BORDERS IN COLOGNE, GERMANY: A VOLATILE Invisible Borders will be showing at the 2019 africologneFestival Köln. Works made during the 2018 Lagos to Maputo Trans-African Road Trip by Emeka Okereke, Tope Adégokè, Kosisochukwu Ugwuede and Kenechukwu Nwatu will be exhibited as a triptych of writings, film and photographs. Also, three new chapbooks, a publication of Invisible Borders, of writings and photographs from the road A RECAP OF THE INVISIBLE BORDERS ACTIVITIES IN THE 12TH This video gives a glimpse of the Invisible Borders activities in the framework of the 12th Bamako Photography Biennale, 2019. The activities comprised of a 10-days workshop, public space exhibition, multimedia exhibition, presentation and panel discussion. This video takes the audience across a good number of these activities as we moved from one to the other across the city of INVISIBLE BORDERS: THE TRANS-AFRICAN PROJECT We are happy to announce the 4th edition of the Invisible Borders Trans-African Road Trip Project. After successful completion of the IB 2011 from Lagos to Addis Ababa, the Invisible-Borders team plans to travel from Lagos, Nigeria to Lubumbashi, Congo for the 2012 edition.
