During this time she found support at a Methodist shelter that is a ministry of El Buen Pastor Church. This shelter has an official capacity of 60 people, but it regularly housesmore than 130.
HOPE | COVID-19 IN THE BORDERLANDS Resources. Slowing the spread of COVID-19 requires that everyone be included in prevention and protection strategies, especially the most vulnerable, including migrants and refugees. This pandemic is a public health crisis that brings home how interconnected we are. It is our collective responsibility to act rapidly and in solidarity. HOPE | ROOT CAUSES INITIATIVE: POLICY FRAMEWORK More than 315 faith-based and civic groups and leaders, including twenty Catholic and Episcopal Bishops from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and the U.S., are calling on President-elect Biden to fundamentally change U.S. policy toward Central America to addressthe root causes.
