Builder Captain M/I Homes, and 15 trade partners completed the renovation of a townhome owned by Pathway Homes, Inc., who provides non-time-limited housing and supportive services to adults with mental illness and other co-occurring disabilities in Northern Virginia. HomeAid was founded in 1989, by the Orange County chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC), an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). HOMEAID HOUSTON REPLACES ROOF ON A VITA LIVING GROUP HOME HomeAid Houston provided and replaced an existing roof on one of Vita Living's group homes, located in the Spring Branch neighborhood. This is HomeAid Houston's first project with Vita Living. Vita Living provides long-term, comprehensive care and support for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Vita Living is committed to creating a happy and healthy environment for the residents they serve. Vita Living consists of 18 group homes that support up to 78 residents. Each home is designed to accommodate the day-to-day challenges individuals with IDD face, such as bathing, eating, and mobility, but still feels like a real home with bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, and back yards. This helps create and maintain a warm, genuine, and home-like environment. Specially equipped vans transport residents from their group home to the Vita Living Center each day to participate in enrichment programs, such as games, crafts, and social interaction.Learn More
RIBBON CUTTING ON WILLOWOOD, OPERATION RENEWED HOPE FOUNDATION’S NEWLY RENOVATED HOME FOR VETERAN On March 9, HomeAid Northern Virginia and Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Willowood Lane, in Alexandria, VA, celebrating the recent completion of a renovation and expansion project which provides new life to the group housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. The project was made possible thanks to a large collaboration of contributors which included the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA). The completion of the home located on Willowood Lane is the second of the two projects – the first was completed in 2019 – and both are now providing affordable long-term housing to veterans and their families who are homeless or are at-risk of homelessness.Learn More

Taylor Morrison chose to build not one, but TWO tiny homes--the only one of our Builder Captains to do so. Taylor Morrison has been supportive of HomeAid since the beginning and not only in the Austin chapter but on a national level as well. Sheryl Palmer, Chairwoman, and CEO of Taylor Morrison, is also President of the Board of Directors for HomeAidAmerica.

HOMEAID AUSTIN COMPLETES FIRST PROJECT TO HELP VICTIMS OF SEXTRAFFICKING
With approximately 79,000 minors and youth falling victim to sex trafficking in Texas, HomeAid and Taylor Morrison partnered to build an emergency drop-in center in Austin for survivors of exploitation. SAFE will be an entry point where survivors of trafficking can rest, get one-on-one counseling in a safe environment and meet peers in thesame situation.
