HERITAGE PARK GHOST TOURS Spring 2021 Ghost Tours March 4, 11, 18, 25 April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 May 6 Update: Due to new provincial restrictions, all remaining Spring 2021 Ghost Tours are cancelled effective May 4th, 2021. Heritage Park’s midway showcases a form of entertainment that was just beginning to evolve at the turn of the century — the amusement park. I.G. BAKER & CO. STORE The I.G. Baker Company built a store nearby, and soon the company's bull trains were ferrying supplies to this store and others in Calgary and Lethbridge. The Baker building developed into the centre of community activity in Fort Macleod, and was later sold, along with the rest of Baker's Canadian stores, to the Hudson's Bay Company in 1891. General Motors of Canada traces its roots to a small farm in eastern Ontario. Although his father wanted him to be a farmer, Robert McLaughlin preferred woodworking, and started a small carriage works in 1869. In its heyday in 1904, the McLaughlin Carriage Company manufactured over 14,000 horse-drawn vehicles. FESTIVAL OF QUILTS
Festival of Quilts Workshops. Wednesday, August 18th: From Past to Present Workshop with Cheryl Arkison 9:00am - 4:00pm. Heritage Park has a number of hidden treasures that only the astute quilter probably notices. PAID PARKING AT HERITAGE PARK HISTORICAL VILLAGE Paid parking is currently in effect at Heritage Park. As a registered charity responsible for connecting people with the settlement of Western Canada, we are challenged with the ongoing and ever-growing preservation and upkeep of the Park’s 127 acres and 182 exhibits. The costs to operate and maintain Heritage Park increase each year. LIVINGSTON HOUSE AND BARN Livingston built his two-storey log house to accommodate his growing family, while the cabin later became a granary, bunkhouse, barn and garage. Heritage Park Historical Village now occupies part of the former Livingston farm. Livingston died in 1897 and his land was eventually bought in 1930 by the City of Calgary, which donated thehouse and

Heritage Park is home to many beautiful sites for your wedding ceremony. From the iconic Prince House lawn to the western charm of the Burnside Ranch House, there are ceremony sites for every taste. RAILWAY ORIENTATION CENTRE Modeled after Calgary’s first Canadian Pacific Railway station, the Orientation Centre building is situated in Heritage Town Square, just outside the Historical Village gates. With views of the Glenmore Reservoir, the Orientation Centre provides a delightfully classy, bright venue for your meeting or catered event. I.G. BAKER & CO. STORE The I.G. Baker Company built a store nearby, and soon the company's bull trains were ferrying supplies to this store and others in Calgary and Lethbridge. The Baker building developed into the centre of community activity in Fort Macleod, and was later sold, along with the rest of Baker's Canadian stores, to the Hudson's Bay Company in 1891.
