THE SAD STORY BEHIND TRIVAGO GUY Think he’s great. A real guy at the end of a long day at the office, or on the construction site reviewing blueprints with the crew, getting ready to look for a hotel in the next town. A HOW-TO GUIDE FOR SCANNING VIEW-MASTER REELS PHOTO GALLERY: 1973-74 UNITED STATES OIL SHORTAGE CRISIS On October 16, 1973, OPEC announced a decision to raise the posted price of oil by 70%, to $5.11 a barrel. In the United States, the retail price of a gallon of gasoline rose from a national average of 38.5 cents in May 1973 to 55.1 cents in June 1974. MORE POSTERS OF THE WPA (WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION I’m not even going to make a juvenile joke about the title of this play (tee hee!). — Federal Theatre presents “Big Blow”: A Drama of the Hurricane Country by Theodore Pratt (Richard Halls, artist, c. 1936-39) If you ask me, this design is every bit as excellent as Winter Olympic ones from the same era. 1968 RALEIGH/BELAIR CIGARETTE COUPON CATALOG (TABLE OF An image gallery of scanned pages from the 1968 Raleigh/BelAir Cigarette Coupon Catalog.RETROTISEMENTS

ALBUM COVER OF THE WEEK: ALICE COOPER, SCHOOL’S OUT I’d say this album cover is quite appropriate for this time of year. It’s the 1972 rock classic School’s Out (Warner Bros. Records – BS 2623), and boy does this one have a lot. T SCENES FROM A 1970S KMART Like many of you, the heyday of department stores and discount stores is still filled with warm feelings of nostalgia. So imagine my delight in stumbling across these photographs taken at a Kmart sometime in the1970s.

And man, what a showpiece it is! More on that in a bit. THE SAD STORY BEHIND TRIVAGO GUY Totally untrue, I just viewed the ad its now 2017 he has the I just got laid look after a 1000 years married to a men all pause wife, So the article above does not gel well with my eyes. B.T.W.MEMO TO MILLENNIALS
I happened to catch a 60 Minutes segment last night detailing a generation of Americans known as “Millennials.” I had never heard that term before, but apparently it translates roughly to “entitled, coddled, self-centered punks.” According to the report this new generation is going to, like, totally change the way the world works. ALBUM COVER OF THE WEEK: MOB RULES It’s hard to believe, but we lost Ronnie James Dio one year ago today. It seems only right to pay small tribute to his musical legacy, and so here we have 1981’s Mob Rules. It was the second and last studio album Black Sabbath released with Dio as frontman until the one-off reunion disc Dehumanizer in 1992. It’s every bit as sinister and metal as the cover indicates. THE EVOLUTION OF FAST FOOD LOGOS: TOP 10 BURGER CHAINS I know I’m certainly not the first person on the internet to post a gallery showing the history of fast food logos. But I’ll be honest — a lot of the other ones I’ve seen have been half-hearted at best, completely lazy and misleading at worst.
