UKHO AWARDS £30M CONTRACT TO LEIDOS INNOVATIONS FOR ARDS The UK Home Office (UKHO) has awarded a £30m contract to Leidos Innovations for providing managed service for its Agile Data Retention and Disclosure Service (ARDS) project. The vision of ARDS is to create agile data retention and disclosure services which can enable telecom operators (TOs) to be quickly on-boarded and off-boarded. OFSTED’S ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE GATHERING Our challenge is to modernise our systems so they take full advantage of 21st Century innovations. And the first phase of the solution is to implement electronic evidence gathering (EEG). This is a complex task for an organisation that employs around 800 inspectors and contracts another 2,500, backed up by 1,000 support staff. ATOS LANDS SIX-YEAR, £135M DEFRA UNITY HOSTING AND The contract, worth £135m over a six-year term – assuming that Defra invokes a one-year extension option – is to provide a complete range of Hosting and Application Support Services. These will include the implementation, provision, management and operation of data centre site services, as well as facilities management, infrastructure, and THE MET PICKS NEW SIGNATURE TO LEAD ITS CLOUD TRANSITION The underlying Azure platform and first set of applications are expected to go live in the cloud in early 2019. Angus McCallum, chief information officer, Metropolitan Police, said, “We are very pleased to have selected New Signature to help us as we start to develop and implement our “Cloud First Strategy” transition. DWP TO GET CLOUD-DELIVERED PROTECTIVE MONITORING FROM CSC The contract – effectively delivering protective monitoring "as a service" through CSC’s Government Security Operations Centre (SOC) – was procured through the CloudStore and is expected to enable DWP to make over £1m in cost savings over two years with increased scope, coverage and capability at NHS SCOTLAND TO MOVE TO SINGLE HEALTHCARE DIGITAL SYSTEM NHS Scotland has announced its plan to consolidate its IT systems into a national platform to improve security and collaboration. The health service has signed a £80m deal with Microsoft to bring together hundreds of separate computer systems into one with the aim of improving staff efficiency. NHS TRUST INSTALLS SYSTEM C’S MEDWAY PATIENT North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has implemented the new Medway patient administration system installed by System C, a provider of integrated IT solutions for the UK health and social care sectors. The Medway patient administration system is a major new computer system which stores extensive information on all patients. CABINET OFFICE CONFIRMS END OF OGC The Cabinet Office has confirmed that the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) has now ceased to function as a distinct entity, with all of its functions being taken on by the Efficiency and Reform Group (ERG).
