In 2018, he became the youngest elected official in the Bay Area at 18 years old when he won a seat on the San Leandro Unified School District Board of Trustees. The political science major is also serving on the SF State THE DIFFICULTIES OF ONLINE LEARNING The difficulties of online learning. K-12 educators and instructors continue to experience challenges transitioning to online learning during the pandemic. He was born in Los Angeles County and raised by first TRUST THE PROCESS: BABS FRY AND PET RECOVERY When “Valley Fire” ripped through Jamul, an unincorporated region of eastern San Diego county, in Sept. 2020, Babs Fry said she made a quick call to her loved ones to confirm that she was sticking to her plan – and that she loved them. Fry would not evacuate. Her loved ones were disappointed, maybe, she DEMYSTIFYING GRIEF: A COVID-19 CONVERSATION WE NEED TO Demystifying grief: A COVID-19 conversation we need to have. Grief, fear and confusion are universal. They are also difficult to talk about, which creates an unnecessary wedge between people who need each other. In the 1101st episode of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Rogers tells the audience about the death of his childhood dog, Mitzi, and the RULE ON H-1B VISA DELAYED BY BIDEN ADMINISTRATION The policy of the H-1B visa program, a non-immigrant visa allowing foreign workers to be employed by U.S. companies, is being delayed by the Biden administration until Dec. 31, 2021. This delay gives more time for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to test and develop plans for the program moving forward. USCIS receives LEGALIZE STEROIDS IN BASEBALL, THE GAME WILL ONLY GET Legalize steroids in baseball, the game will only get better. With Ryan Braun returning from a 65-game suspension and Alex Rodriguez sitting out the entire 2014 season, steroids are still seen as a major problem in Major League Baseball. But there is a very simple strategy to stop the bleeding: Make steroids legal. That’s right. BODY ART STEREOTYPES MISREPRESENT TATTOO AND PIERCING According to a study by Harris Interactive, currently one in five people in the U.S. has at least one tattoo. Although this 21 percent tattooed population is actively growing, 40 percent of people think this progression is a change for the worse, according to Pew Research Center. It’s interesting how perspectives are so different. BLACK STUDENTS SEEK AGENCY, VOICE Black student organizations rallied to condemn the Division of Equity and Community Inclusion’s decision to remove the Black Unity Center’s administrative analyst, Hanna Wodaje, from her position in early February.
