MOBILE PAYMENTS: WHAT IS NFC CARD EMULATION MODE An NFC enabled device can operate in three different modes – reader/writer mode, peer-to-peer mode and the all important card-emulation mode.. In Reader/Writer mode, an NFC device behaves as a reader for NFC tags, such as the contactless smart cards and RFID tags. It detects a tag immediately in close proximity by using collision avoidance mechanism. Once detected, it can either read data IS IT AN AJAX REQUEST OR A NORMAL REQUEST? Update 1: Based on the input provided by a buddy called Sabob from dzone, X-Requested-With is set only by AJAX libraries like jQuery, Mootools, Prototype etc. If you are coding AJAX by hand, then you will have to explicitly set this header while sending a request.JCAROUSELLITE
jCarouselLite is a jQuery plugin that carries you on a carousel ride filled with images and HTML content. Put simply, you can navigate images and/or HTML in a carousel-style widget. It is super light weight, at about 2 KB in size, yet very flexible and customizable to fit most of our needs. CTRL + KEY COMBINATION In a recent web application I was working on, I had a need for the “Ctrl + S” hotkey to save an entry to the database. Being a an avid jquery fan, I immediately searched the plugin repository for any plugin that fits the bill. APPLE PAY - AN ATTEMPT TO DEMYSTIFY Thanks Slava. AFAIK, Apple does not explicitly mention that it does use EMV tokenization and/or contactless specs yet! I took a look at their in-app payment PassKit documentation and noticed that it uses EMV data elements. It was reasonable to think that the same is used for Tap n Pay as well. But, that post was specifically targetted towards explaining where the Secure Element is located when using Apple Pay and Google Wallet. APPLE PAY VS GOOGLE WALLET : LOST AND STOLEN SCENARIO Both ApplePay and Google Wallet give very good attention to security. In fact we can even make a blanket statement that almost all mobile wallet services are at least slightly more secure than the traditional Magnetic Stripe cards, but to be honest, that is not a correct comparison.
