7 UNDERRATED AUDREY HEPBURN MOVIES Audrey Hepburn's name is synonymous with her 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's. Breakfast at Tiffany's is a classic, (even though some elements of it really don't hold up), and Audrey Hepburn manages to both look great in Givenchy couture, and display her range as an actress. Audrey Hepburn was a European with aristocratic origins, but she disappears into the character of Holly Golightly, a very American girl with dubious origins and a dubious profession who lives on the edge of New York Cafe society. But I am not here to recommend the movie that made Audrey Hepburn a cultural touchstone and style icon who transcends classical cinema. Instead, I am here to recommend seven of her films that live in the shadow of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Justine Olivia Marks Published 4 days ago4 days ago in Geeks*
THE PROBLEM WITH DISABILITY STEREOTYPES IN THE MEDIA As little as 3.1% of regular primetime broadcast TV characters have a disability, GLAAD statistics reveal. Although this is a record-high number, it still drastically underrepresents the real numbers (14.1 million people in the UK) of people diagnosed with disabilities. Moreover, while realistic representations of the disabled community are increasing, harmful inaccurate stereotypes are unfortunately still all too common and need addressing.SS

15 NOVEL RECOMMENDATIONS USING JUST THE FIRST LINE OF THE BOOK Authors and publishers spend a huge amount of time and effort crafting a jacket blurb that will get you to buy a novel. This makes perfect sense; in a fiercely competitive market grabbing the reader’s attention is crucial. But maybe, in some cases at least, they’ve been overthinking things the whole time.Paul Combs

MOVIE REVIEW: 'CRUELLA' IS A FEAST FOR THE EYES Cruella is a punk rock visual fantasia shot through the prism of the Disney empire. Directed by Craig Gillespie, and starring Emma Stone, the film carries a distinctive aesthetic but one wonders what beats beneath the metaphorical chest of this spectacle. Sure, we do have the emotion of yet another dead Disney parent, one killed before our very eyes near the start of the film, but we’ve grown so used to this Disney trope that the impact is relatively minor.Sean Patrick

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: ALL THE MAJOR CHARACTERS CONFIRMED TO APPEAR IN THE 'GAME OF THRONES' PREQUEL. While the ending of smash-hit TV series Game Of Thrones remains divisive, most fans of the show were still eager to see more from the world of Westeros, so it came as a disappointment to learn that the first planned prequel, Bloodmoon, failed to get off the ground. Thankfully, there is still hope. A second prequel, House of the Dragon, has received a direct to series order. The series is currently in production, set to air on HBO in 2022.Kristy Anderson

WRITING: THE BAD BOY TROPE After reflecting on the toxicity of the Not Like Other Girls Heroines, it made me think - what about the guys that these female characters have written for them? That's easy, because the special wallflower or innocent naïve nerd usually ends up with the Bad Boy Love Interest.Ted Ryan

VILLAINESS REVIEW: DR. SEPI CHAMANARA (ELEMENTARY) I've been a diehard fan of the CBS series, Elementary, since the beginning; having watched all seven seasons religiously. I really loved the modern take on Sherlock Holmes, and it has immensely pleased me as a fan of villainesses. Season Six, IMO, had some of the best female baddies, with one example being shown in the season's 17th episode, "The Worms Crawl In, The Worms Crawl Out."Clyde E. Dawkins

NEVER MEET YOUR HEROES I knew Anthony Bourdain... Like you knew him, not personally, but the guy he played on T.V. I spent more time with him than anyone I never met. Read his books, watched his shows, then watched them again and again. His voice is as familiar to me as any.Chad Mathews

SNIPPETS OF LOVE
I had been sewing for a few years when I saw beautiful quilts on display at the local fabric store. I was in awe - how amazing that someone could attach tiny pieces of fabric together and create art from nothing! I decided I needed to make my first quilt.Angel Whelan

DOCUMENTARY REVIEW: 'SUPER FRENCHIE' INSIDE THE LIFE OF AN EXTREMESPORTS SUPERSTAR
Super Frenchie is a terrific documentary about a fascinating man. Super Frenchie is the nickname given to Matthias Giraud, a base jumper and extreme skiing fanatic with a deep and abiding addiction to adrenaline. Matthias is one of the most famous base jumpers in the world and, as demonstrated in Super Frenchie, one of the most humble and charming. Giraud takes a sport that appears utterly terrifying and unnecessary and gives it a context and appeal that even someone as desperately afraid of heights as this critic can appreciate.Sean Patrick
