It was established in 1914 as a station on the Kissimmee Valley Branch of the Florida East Coast Railroad. It had a school, post office and a population in 1930 of about 170. When the railroad closed in 1946 thetown faded away.
KINGSLEY LAKE FLORIDA. STRICKLAND'S LANDING AND CAMP BLANDING Strickland's Landing was a large beach and enclosed swimming area with water slides and other fun attractions. It occupied 20 acres on the north shore of the lake. Strickland's Landing was a great place for families from Gainesville, Starke, and Jacksonville to spend hotsummer days.
