STOPPING THE PANDEMICCOVID-19 RESEARCH
More than one-fifth of Fred Hutch researchers have active projects related to COVID-19. Across the organization, scientists are tackling all aspects of the disease and the SARs-CoV-2 virus that causes it — including coordinating vaccine development, testing potential therapies, tracking how it spreads, how it affects our bodies and how to safely return to schools and offices. OUR COMMITMENT
Fred Hutch is committed to becoming an anti-racist institution. In this endeavor, we are determined to strengthen and deepen our efforts that affirm the equal rights, value and protection of Black people and other minority communities — in the streets, on our campus and inour science.
This spring, we assessed our progress toward our goals and released an annual report in early June. Read Our Annual Report MEET OUR RESEARCHERS View All Faculty & LabsGenetics & Genomics
ENABLING CUTTING-EDGE SCIENCE Technical experts in Fred Hutch Shared Resources, like genomics specialist PHILIP CORRIN, offer their specialized, high-tech services, technologies and expertise to researchers through the Hutch and beyond. Corrin conducts high-throughput screening and provides custom cell processing services in the Genomics & Bioinformatics shared resource’s gene modulation lab.Virology
STUDYING HIV TRANSMISSION Many factors shape how readily HIV transmits from person to person, and DR. JULIE OVERBAUGH studies the problem in some of the world’s most vulnerable people, including commercial sex workers and infants born to mothers with HIV. Overbaugh teamed up with Kenyan scientists to conduct studies aimed at understanding what hinders — or helps — the virus to jump between people.Search and Filter
