Speakers from various New York State government agencies present an overview of 2% Tax usage and distribution pertaining to their areas of expertise. These speakers also answer questions submitted at the forum. The committee encourages as much participationin the

With many fire stations on Covid-19 “lockdown”, fire department drills and meetings are being cancelled and limitations are being placed on the number of personnel allowed to respond to alarms and ride on apparatus. The following legislative issues were agreed upon by the Alliance of Fire Service Organizations for the 2021 Legislative Session: Provides that authorities having control of a fire department or fire company that provides emergency medical services may establish fees and charges for TWO PERCENT FOREIGN FIRE INSURANCE FUNDS A GUIDANCE 3 SECTION I AN INTRODUCTION TO FOREIGN FIRE INSURANCE FUNDS New York State imposes a two-percent tax rate on the premiums of fire insurance policies written by out-of-state insurers against loss or damage by fire on property located in the State. FIREFIGHTERS AND COLORECTAL CANCER It is estimated that 147,950 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed in 2020 and 53,200 individuals will unfortunately die from this disease (2). Colorectal cancer rates have declined over the past two decades among people 55 years and older, but rates are rising in those under-50 years of age (3). Firefighters are at increased risk EMS COST RECOVERY BILL ADVANCES IN THE SENATE On May 15, 2018, legislation that would allow fire departments to recover the costs associated with providing emergency medical services (EMS) advanced in the State Senate. Thanks to the leadership of FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK FASNY is the voice of the volunteer fire service in Albany. FIREFIGHTERS AND COLORECTAL CANCER It is estimated that 147,950 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed in 2020 and 53,200 individuals will unfortunately die from this disease (2). Colorectal cancer rates have declined over the past two decades among people 55 years and older, but rates are rising in those under-50 years of age (3).
