In 1924, Lloyd Stearman, Clyde Cessna, and Walter Beech formed the Travel Air Manufacturing Company in Wichita, Kansas. Their first effort was the Travel Air 1000, which was designed along the lines of the famous Curtiss Jenny. A later model, the Travel Air 2000, was built with horn-balanced control surfaces, which were 1936 BÜCKER JUNGMANN 1936 Bücker Jungmann. Designed by Carl Bücker, the Jungmann—which means “young man” or “freshman” in English—was one of the finest primary aerobatic trainers ever built. Its flying qualities are splendid, and its distinctive double swept-back wings make it a greatsnapping airplane.

GOLDEN AGE AIRCRAFT OF THE 1920S & 30S 1929 Curtiss Robin. This aircraft looks fairly meek and mild, and in fact, it has been underestimated more than once. Originally designed as an affordable and practical aircraft that made use of then-common, World War I surplus 90hp OX-5 engines, the Robin became a hit with private owners who wanted an enclosed cabin and an easy operation.BUILT FORD TOUGH!

KERMIT’S COLLECTION Once the Golden Age dawned, there was no LOOKING BACK!!! 1938 AVRO Cadet. 1934 Brown B-2 “Miss Los Angeles”. 1937 Bücker Jungmeister. 1934 Cierva C.30-A Autogiro. 1929 Curtiss Robin. 1931 Curtiss-Wright Junior. 1932 DGA-5 “IKE”. 1929 Ford 5AT Tri-Motor. GOLDEN AGE AIRCRAFT OF THE 1920S & 30S 1929 Curtiss Robin. This aircraft looks fairly meek and mild, and in fact, it has been underestimated more than once. Originally designed as an affordable and practical aircraft that made use of then-common, World War I surplus 90hp OX-5 engines, the Robin became a hit with private owners who wanted an enclosed cabin and an easy operation. 1929 TRAVEL AIR 4000 1929 Travel Air 4000. In 1924, Lloyd Stearman, Clyde Cessna, and Walter Beech formed the Travel Air Manufacturing Company in Wichita, Kansas. Their first effort was the Travel Air 1000, which was designed along the lines of the famous Curtiss Jenny. A later model, the Travel Air 2000, was built with horn-balanced control surfaces, which were 1944 CONSOLIDATED B-24J LIBERATOR 1944 Consolidated B-24J Liberator. The B-24 Liberator was designed in 1939 as a replacement for the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. Its roomy fuselage and high aspect ratio Davis wing enabled the B-24 to fly higher, farther, and to carry a greater bomb load than the B-17.
