Some of the age-group triathletes got in on the battle-of-the-sexes format. Debbie Wehrs, 37, from Prior Lake, Minn., had a four-minute handicap over her boyfriend. Even though it was her first triathlon and she trained while juggling a full-time job and raising two children, she beat him by a minute and a half. An enthusiastic surfer and martial artist who practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he describes himself as someone who thinks with his body — and he feels strongly that this is one of the keys to his success in business.
