With technical assistance from EWB-USA and our local partner, SELOCOFFI, community members began the grueling process of creating a fishpond. For two months, members of the collective removed wheelbarrows full of earth and dense clay, digging out a 100 by 50 foot sloping pit. At its deepest point, thepond drops

FUNDRAISING FOR ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS USA The improvements will come at a cost of $32,000, just for the material. The local residents will be donating their labor to construct the water-capture basin and install the new waterline. Fund-raising has been a challenge to this point. The chapter currently has $10,500 in savings and just acquired a $10,000 grant from theNational EWB funds.
