ninetieth birthday on the third of June, 2021. He is our longest-serving editor, who joined the Editorial Board in 1986. His wide knowledge, scientific reputation and numerous international contacts were essential in leading the journal through some hard times and making it what it is today. ------------------------- _EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ENTOMOLOGY_ (_EJE_) is an international Open Access journal covering the whole field of entomology (general, experimental, systematic and applied; please see some scope limitations in our online Instructions to authors). The language
of publication is English. Suitable manuscripts are reviewed by independent referees before acceptance. The _European Journal of Entomology_ became an electronic-only, Open Access journal in 2016. This brought the following changes beginning with Vol. 113 (2016): * The journal is no longer produced in printed form. Only the ISSN of the electronic form (1802-8829) is in use, that of the printed version (1210-5759) disappeared from the journal. * All papers are published online immediately after proofreading and are freely available on our website (www.eje.cz) under the Creative Commons (CC-BY) license. Also all previous volumes (2015 and earlier) are free. * Authors pay a per-publication fee; current information about that fee is available in our online information for authors here.
* To satisfy requirements of the 2012 “Amendment of Articles 8, 9, 10, 21 and 78 of the _International Code of Zoological Nomenclature_ to expand and refine methods of publication”, the journal is archived in a certified electronic storage facility and taxonomic papers containing nomenclatural acts and new names within those papers are registered in ZooBank to ensure validity of those papers for purposes of zoological nomenclature from the date of publication (which is stated on each paper together with the registration codes). The journal is abstracted and/or indexed in* Web of Science
