We are confident that if this guidance is followed from an early age, positive habits will be formed that will actively contribute to an athlete achieving a great deal of success, both in and out of competitive sport. JUDO: PERFORMANCE, PHYSIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT Judo Performance. In a physically demanding and a highly technical sport, British Judo uses sport science and medical support to proactively minimise injury risk, develop physical and mental strength, maintain power and develop movement competency. The EIS supports athletes and coaches on the Olympic and Paralympic World Class Programme, across MATT PARKER, DIRECTOR OF PERFORMANCE INNOVATION Matt Parker. Matt is currently the Director of Performance Innovation for the EIS, responsible for delivering strategies and support which use technology and innovation to keep GB Olympic and Paralympic sports at the leading edge of sports performance. He was formerly an Olympic track cycling coach. He successfully coached the men’s endurance TASH CARPENTER, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS Tash Carpenter. Tash Carpenter has been the Director of Communications at the EIS since May 2018, with responsibility for leading on the EIS’s marketing, communications, brand and digital strategy. She joined the EIS from her previous role as Head of Communications at Premiership Rugby, where her successes include introducing theStonewall

Victoria won world titles in 2006 and 2009 as well as a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing ParalympicGames.

He spent 10 years at the NHS and in private practice before moving into sport in 2000 as Head of Physiotherapy at the University of Bath Sport Injuries Clinic. He moved to the EIS in 2006 as Senior Regional GYMNASTICS: PERFORMANCE, PHYSIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGICAL Gymnastics Performance. With such a physically demanding sport, requiring strength, power and flexibility, British Gymnastics use a range of services and employ a Head of Sport Science and Medicine through the EIS. Following that Laura was a technical lead for the north, and now splits her time between Co-Head of Physiology and as a Senior Physiologist for British Triathlon.
