I'm looking for a minimalist sling bag to hold a small pistol (Sig P365 at the small end, but maybe periodically a full size pistol), and maybe a few other items. I'd prefer a gray approach (no Molle), so I've looked at the Nutsac Man-Bag Dammit.WHICH ZIPPO INSERT?
The Zippo inserts are the best ones I have found, personally. The benefits of the regular insert is that you can light it and it keeps burning a good flame with no worries about holding the button. But it leaks and dries out . The butane insert is almost as good, you just need to hold the button. INDIGLO DON'T GLOW NO MO' That said, it works fine (i.e., it's not losing time or anything, so I don't suspect the battery) but the Indiglo nightlight on the face -- that I activate by pressing the stem -- now doesn't light up. In fact, the stem doesn't have that spring-loaded feel anymore. I know a new watch isn't that expensive, but this thing isn't very old! ELMAX VS M390 (AND ITS EQUIVALENCE) M390 will hold an edge longer, but Elmax is no slouch and is tougher. I wouldn't say it's an ideal pack fabric compared to a high quality cordura or ballistic nylon, or even a lighter nylon weave. ANY ALTERNATIVE TO THE BENCHMADE DAGGER? Folding and EDC-capable fixed blade knives. Pocket knives and Swiss Army knives (Victorinox and Wenger) belong here. SEIKO 5 LOSING TIME VERY FAST 3,499. If it is consistently slow then that's a good thing actually! It will make for easy 'adjustment' as opposed to a watch thats slow 5minutes one week and fast 5minutes the other. If you cant be bothered to bring it to a specialist and want to try to INDIGLO DON'T GLOW NO MO' That said, it works fine (i.e., it's not losing time or anything, so I don't suspect the battery) but the Indiglo nightlight on the face -- that I activate by pressing the stem -- now doesn't light up. In fact, the stem doesn't have that spring-loaded feel anymore. I know a new watch isn't that expensive, but this thing isn't very old!SP101 EXPERIENCE?
146. I used to carry my SP-101 with hardwood Eagle grips. They weren't comfortable to shoot with full house loads but they were great for concealed carry because they were slick and my covering garment would slide over them and not print. Their MINIMALIST SLING BAG FOR PISTOL CCW 8. First time poster - thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm looking for a minimalist sling bag to hold a small pistol (Sig P365 at the small end, but maybe periodically a full size pistol), and maybe a few other items. I'd prefer a gray approach (no Molle), so I've looked at the Nutsac Man-Bag Dammit. LEATHERMAN: OIL AND MAINTENANCE I prefer a clean, dry multi-tool surface to a dust and grit holding oily one. My average routine maintenance is once or twice a year, other times only when needed, and everything has continued to work smoothly and rust free. I'm sure other methods work well, but this is mine. #10 znapschatz, Mar 27, 2012. BERTUCCI FIELD WATCHES, OPINIONS 648. Likes Received: 13. I have three of the Bertucci titanium field watches, all are somewhere between 3 & 5 years old IIRC, got all of them for around $80-100 each. One is a standard A-2T, one is an A-2T with date, and one is an A-2TE with electroluminescent backlight. Ireally like
OPINEL FAN CLUB
I'm a big fan of Opinel knives. The one in this picture is the No 9, which I find to to be a very practical size. Big enough for most chores but not so big that it's difficult to carry. It's pictured next to my Mercator K55, another one of my favorite old-fashioned knives. Both knives are starting to show patinas. WHY ARE 30 MINUTE COUNTERS ON CHRONOGRAPHS "STANDARD After posting a whole thread about how I prefer digital watches, I naturally got the urge to look into analog watches rolleyes, and decided I wanted to try a watch with a rotating bezel or a chronograph rolleyes. When researching chronos, I noticed the same thing you did and found it equally baffling. I bought a Precista PRS-17C, which is a chrono with a rotating bezel (unidirectional, alas).KNIVES | EDCFORUMS
Folding and EDC-capable fixed blade knives. Pocket knives and Swiss Army knives (Victorinox and Wenger) belong here. MULTITOOL CARRY ORGANIZATION... Rebar in the Leatherman nylon sheath with pockets. I’m still waiting on the bit kit from Leatherman, but the pouch does a good job of holding and organizing the Rebar multitool, Thrunite Ti3 flashlight, and Fisher Bullet Space Pen. SIMPLE KEYCHAINS SHOW ME YOUR PICTURES Always been against bulky keychains so I'm enjoying this setup recently. Remote fob/mailkey stays in my jeans coin pocket which holds it in place pretty well, so I can hit the buttons from outside thepocket.
SOME LANSKY SHARPENER TIPS (WARNING, PIC HEAVY!) It really doesn't matter if you do it this way, or you hook your finger OVER the guide rod, and hold it down. The important point is that it slides through the guide hole the same place on both the forward, and backward stroke. Makes a world of difference in getting a nice, flat, bevel at the edge.WHICH ZIPPO INSERT?
The Zippo inserts are the best ones I have found, personally. The benefits of the regular insert is that you can light it and it keeps burning a good flame with no worries about holding the button. But it leaks and dries out . The butane insert is almost as good, you just need to hold the button. RUBBER, SILICON, RESIN BANDS? DURABILITY? ISSUES? But, since 2001 I have not had a band crack or break on me. Two, if the Casio bands are too stiff, try dipping them in simmering water for a minute or so. They soften up quite well. Just be sure to protect the watch from steam damage. I fogged my ProTrek trying this. #2 MCPOWoller, Jul 16, 2016. CENTERING A KNIFE BLADE I originally posted this on USN two years ago, but I thought it would be beneficial to bring it over here as well. A problem among foldingknives that seem to
KNIFE IDENTIFICATION Likes Received: 56. Mabye just a skinning knife. Or if I get a sheath for it ill take it with me when I go hunting. I tried skinning a deer with a folder the other day and it took me longer to clean the knife then it took me to skin the deer. Sent from my HTC PH39100 usingTapatalk 2.
