DIGNITY CHAMPIONS
Dignity Champions. Led by the National Dignity Council, Dignity Champions form part of a nationwide network of 120,000+ individuals and organisations who work to put dignity and respect at the heart of UK care services to enable a positive experience of care. BECOMING A DIGNITY CHAMPION Becoming a Dignity Champion. A Dignity Champion is someone who believes passionately that being treated with dignity is a basic human right, not an optional extra. They believe that care services must be compassionate, person centred, as well as efficient, and are willing to try to do something to achieve this. CARE HOME ACTION PLAN Care home action plan. This care home action plan is for managers and owners of care homes for older people. It has been designed to also be used for wider groups of people including those with complex conditions. Care home managers will be able to use the tool to support good conversations with residents and staff, and identify the DIGNITY TEST AUDIT TOOL Dignity Test Audit Tool. This is a self assessment tool that challenges care providers to rate themselves against the range of Dignity Tests. Organisations are asked to assess their service on a scale of 1-10, provide evidence on why they feel this score is justified and then identify what action would need to be taken to makeimprovements.
CHALLENGING POOR PRACTICE This module has been produced for two purposes: To support individuals working in health and social care roles who feel uncomfortable with something they have seen or heard and are looking for practical support on how to handle the situation.
