HISTORY | CITY OF DAWSON CREEK Dawson Creek, with a population of 750, had thousands of civilian workers and soldiers invading it almost overnight and until the completion of the highway at the end of 1943 it was a real boomtown. This brought in many industries, many of which have remained. On February 13, 1943 an explosion destroyed an entire block in the heartof Dawson Creek.

The Property Tax Department supplies tax certificates to lawyers and notary public for a fee of $10.44 per certificate. Written request is required for out of town lawyers by email or fax and payment can be made by credit card or invoiced with the certificate.. At the Regular Meeting of Council held on May 31, 2021, Council proposed to amend the Permissive Tax Exemption Policy which isattached here
.
The Permissive Tax Exemption Policy will be updated to align with the new method of determining the amount of Permissive Tax Exemption, applying the ‘maximum Municipal Permissive Tax Limit.’ Any member of the public who feels they may be affected by the proposed changes to the City of Dawson Creek Permissive Tax Exemption policy may submit comments regarding these proposed amendments, inwriting, to:

ROAD CLOSURE ON 10TH ST FROM 110-112TH AVEJune 3, 2021
Please
be advised that construction on 10th Street from 110th Avenue to 112th Avenue will begin on Monday, June 7th. The road will be closed while construction crews work on the reconstruction of the road, sidewalks, storm sewer improvements, and streetlighting.
