KRISTI STEFANONI WILL NOT RETURN AS HEAD COACH OF UMASS After 15 years on the Massachusetts softball staff and eight years as head coach, Kristi Stefanoni will not return to the program for the 2021-2022 season, UMass athletic director Ryan Bamford announced Thursday. “I want to thank Kristi for her time as a UMass student-athlete, assistant coach and head coach for the last 19 years combined,” Bamford said. ‘THE PANDEMIC BEHIND BARS:’ PANELISTS DISCUSS EFFECTS OF The Prison Abolition Collective at the University of Massachusetts hosted a panel discussion titled “The Pandemic Behind Bars: Covid-19 in U.S. Prisons” on Tuesday. UMASS SPLITS WEEKEND SERIES WITH FORDHAM Struggle is at the very least a fair evaluation of this season for the Massachusetts baseball team. Things took a turn for the better against Fordham this weekend, splitting the four-game series 2-2. WHY HIGH SCHOOLS SHOULD TEACH FINANCIAL SKILLS A good portion of high school syllabi do empower students through training them in mathematical, critical and creative thinking, but more needs to be done in high schools to teach students important financial skills. UMASS PREPARES FOR ‘BLARNEY BLOWOUT’ WEEKEND The University of Massachusetts Police Department is working with the Amherst Police Department to prepare for possible “Blarney Blowout” parties this weekend, despite restricted student activity policies due to COVID-19.
