ONE YEAR ON: CYCLING UP 47% IN SCOTLAND 6 April 2021. One year since Covid-19 restrictions were first introduced in Scotland, new data shows a 47% rise in people cycling from 23 March 2020 to 22 March 2021 compared to same period 2019-2020. Scotland has seen a surge in the number of people cycling in the past 12 months, according to data from the nation’s cyclingorganisation.

CYCLING ACTION PLAN FOR SCOTLAND Our role includes leading on specific actions within CAPS, acting as the Secretariat for the CAPS Delivery Forum and reviewing the significant progress being made getting more people cycling.An independent review of CAPS, funded by Transport Scotland and commissioned by Cycling Scotland was announced in June 2019 and submitted to Transport Scotland in February 2020. NHS - CYCLING FRIENDLY - OUR PROGRAMMES - CYCLING SCOTLAND NHS Dumfries and Galloway. This scheme aims to support staff who might not otherwise be able to access bikes and complements both the Cycle to Work scheme and the Cycling Friendly Employer development grant fund. Play on Pedals. Play on Pedals instructor training will equip nursery staff to plan and deliver the Play on Pedals programme to nursery-aged children. Play on Pedals. Play on Pedals instructor training will equip nursery staff to plan and deliver the Play on Pedals programme to nursery-aged children. Play on Pedals will teach pre-school children about the parts of a bike, how to fit a helmet correctly and the basics of looking after their bikes. Through a series of fun and imaginative BIKEABILITY SCOTLAND 1. Contact your local co-ordinator. Each local authority that delivers Bikeability Scotland has a local coordinator to help schools like yours to get more pupils cycling. Pedal for Scotland 2021. A new series of local Pedal for Scotland events is happening this year, subject to mass participation events going ahead. Free to enter, inclusive and non-competitive, these events are on beginner-friendly cycling routes. These events will be open for registration shortly. PRACTICAL CYCLE AWARENESS TRAINING Practical Cycle Awareness Training, with funding from Transport Scotland, allows drivers of large vehicles and learner drivers to step into the shoes of more vulnerable road users, including those on bikes, on foot and those with disabilities to provide them with a greater understanding of their needs. From small employers to large organisations employing over 250 people, workplaces across Scotland have worked hard to achieve the Cycling Friendly award. Employers in the public, private and third sectors, including NHS Scotland health boards and councils, have been accredited with the award. BIKEABILITY SCOTLAND Level 1 and 2 manoeuvres. These clips are useful for instructors and trainees as a supplementary tool to practical training. These videos are recordings of real-life cycle training; therefore the experienced viewer may notice a few mistakes from the trainees. ONE YEAR ON: CYCLING UP 47% IN SCOTLAND Scotland has seen a surge in the number of people cycling in the past 12 months, according to data from the nation’s cycling organisation. Statistics released today (Tuesday 6 April) by Cycling Scotland show 47 per cent more cycling journeys were recorded between 23 March 2020 and 22 March 2021 compared to the same period 2019–2020.
