"Studying abroad with CYA has acted as a catalyst; transforming me into a strong individual that can handle the challenges thrown at me." Shaianne Nickerson SPRING 18 (UNC Chapel Hill) "I studied abroad in Greece for many of the same reasons thousands of tourist pour into the country every year: I was seduced by the culture, the history, and the stunning scenery. I did however have one unique goal that set me apart from the tourists, and that was to see Greece for what it really is, the good, the bad, the ugly and thebeautiful."
Katherine Hauge, SPRING 14 (Hope C) “Every moment spent reflecting on where I am and the adventures I have had is a moment of complete awe. Never in my life did I think I’d experience all I have in the few short months I have been here in Europe.” (Meghan Hargaden, 4 April 2016) Meghan Hargaden SPRING 16 (U of Colorado - Boulder) "I learned the importance of doing what you love and embracing your individuality. I learned the importance of trying new things whether its food, a religious service, or whatever. It's new experiences that push your beyond your comfort zone and improve your ability to be open minded and accepting." Carlyle Vincent, FALL 14 (Brandeis U) "I learned a lot about me and doing things on my own. I got a great grasp on how a different society lives their life and could see how the media skews their stories sometimes. I think this is the most worth while experience anyone could have and would encourage anyone to."
Jane Berry, SPRING 15 (Brandeis U) "CYA helped me to find my passion, to make connections, and to bring Ancient Greek History to life. This semester truly changed my life. I met so many incredible, inspirational people who encouraged and pushed me along the way. I know that I will never be the same." Maddi Brenner FALL 16 (DePaul U) “I cannot help but look back on the fond memories that I have made this past semester with a smile... Throughout these months, I have fallen in love with beautiful Greece. But most importantly, I have grown as an individual. I can truly say that this semester has helped me to begin to know myself. Being in such a different environment has a way of emphasizing one’s own strengths and weaknesses.”Kyra Webb SPRING 16
“From tholos tombs, to lecture in a castle, to class in a cave, to thousand year old theatres, to Olympic stadiums, to monasteries on mountains, to back home in beautiful Athena… It’s one thing to be in class learning about the incredible history of Greece while sitting in the capital of it, but it’s an entirely new sense of surrealism when you are smack dab on the site where western civilizations started.” On the trip to the Peloponnese] Meghan Hargaden SPRING 16 (U of Colorado - Boulder)Previous Next
