AusPlay results. AusPlay provides national, state and territory data on almost 400 different participation sports and activities in Australia and who is participating in them. The ACT Department of Education and Training. mandates a minimum of 25-30 minutes per day of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity as part of planned physical education and sport programs for students in K-6, and 150 minutes per week of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for students in grades 7 through 10. STRUCTURE OF AUSTRALIAN SPORT Australian governments at all levels play a leading role in delivering sport and sport related policies and programs. ACTIVE AFTER-SCHOOL COMMUNITIES (AASC) The Active After-school Communities (AASC) program was an Australian Government initiative that provided primary school-aged children with access to free sport and other structured physical activity programs in the after-school time slot of 3.00pm to 5.30pm. It operated from2004-2014.
AIS GYMNASTICS PROGRAM 1981 - 2013. Gymnastics was one of the AIS’s original eight founding sports, established with the Institute in 1981. The AIS program was based in Canberra from 1981-2010 and offered residential male and female athletes.In 2011, AIS Gymnastics was delivered as a camps based program. All AIS athlete scholarships discontinued at the end of 2013. SEXUALITY AND GENDER PERSPECTIVES ON SPORTS ETHICS The findings revealed multiple but narrow meanings of gender equity. There were three perspectives: (1) full equality; (2) conditional equality, and; (3) equality as a women’s only issue. The differences illustrate the complexities and struggles involved in understanding this organisational value.
