The electronic journal of the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) uses similar submission guidelines adopted and utilized by the Transactions of the ASABE. All manuscripts should be single spaced and submitted in "Times New Roman", 12 pointfont.
VOL. 21 NO. 1 (2019): CIGR JOURNAL Mathematical Model of a Dynamic Process of Transporting a Bulk Material by Means of a Tube Scraping Conveyor. Oleh Leontiyovych Lyashuk, Yuriy Yaroslavovych Vovk, Bohdan Sokil, Volodymyr Klendii, Roman Ivasechko, Taras Dovbush. 74-81. PDF. PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYHYDROXYBUTYRATE The accumulation of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) granule in cells of Bacillus megaterium ATCC 6748 was significantly depended on the ratio of C-source and N-source in the medium culture. Sugarcane molasses (MOL) and corn steep liquor (CSL) were used as renewable raw materials, since they were rich in carbon and nitrogen respectively, leading to develop a low cost process of PHB production. THIN LAYER AND DEEP BED DRYING BASIC THEORIES AND A comprehensive review of the fundamental theories governing the drying process is presented. The development of models of drying of agricultural products for thin layer and deep bed drying are discussed. The factors affecting drying and the biochemical changes which happen during drying are listed. Importance of moisture diffusion and activation energy consumption for modeling and DETECTION OF UNHEALTHY REGION OF PLANT LEAVES AND Plant diseases have turned into a dilemma as it can cause significant reduction in both quality and quantity of agricultural products. Automatic detection of plant diseases is an essential research topic as it may prove benefits in monitoring large fields of crops, and thus automatically detect the symptoms of diseases as soon as they appearon plant leaves.
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON VISCOSITY OF KOKUM, KARONDA The viscosity of the food products (kokum, karonda, mango pulp and cashew apple syrup) was determined at temperatures 20ºC, 30ºC, 40ºC, 50ºC and 60ºC and at different spindle speed such as 0.07, 0.09, 0.1, 1.1 and 17 r min-1 for mango pulp and 17, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 r min-1 for kokum, karonda and cashew apple syrup using Brookfield viscometer. AN INTRODUCTION TO PATCHOULI (POGOSTEMON CABLIN BENTH Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) is a plant from Lamiaceae family, well known for its medicinal and aromatic properties. Patchouli is grown for its essential oil. Patchouli essential oil is mainly obtained by steam distillation of the shade dried leaves. It is widely appreciated for its characteristic pleasant and long lasting woody, earthy, camphoraceous odour. COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF BATCH AND CONTINUOUS ANAEROBIC An investigation was conducted into the suitability of either of the batch or continuous (CSTR) digesters for anaerobic degradation of municipal solid waste (MSW) in the production of biogas. Mathematical models were developed for the design and evaluation of the two systems. The development of the models was based upon a material balance analysis of the digesters'operation. In this research chicken and guinea fowl wastes eggshell were used as feedstock for the producing heterogeneous catalyst for production of biodiesel. Proceeding their utilization, calcium oxide (CaO) was obtained by calcining the eggshells which contains calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in a muffle furnace at A TWO DEGREE OF FREEDOM DAMPED FRUIT TREE MODEL A simple two degree of freedom fruit tree model was built and some of its behaviour was compared with real cherry trees. The model represented from one hand the rooting system with a certain amount of soil and of the trunk, from the other hand the main branches and limb. The calculated results for the model have shown good accordance with the test results of the measured real tree: in both EVALUATION OF FAO-56 PENMAN-MONTEITH AND TEMPERATURE BASED Accurate determination of reference evapotranspiration is very essential for precise computation of crop water use. Several models have been used in computing reference evapotranspiration and they require local calibration in order to validate their usage. Climatic data used in computing reference evapotranspiration (ETo) for Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Itoikin were obtained from PRODUCTION OF CELLULOSIC ETHANOL FROM WOOD SAWDUST Energy from fossil fuels has played a very important role in our lives, but such an important role has been clouded out due to the environment hazards caused from fossil emissions. This has led to a new dimension in energy utilization known as renewable energy fuels. To fully support this type of energy from biological mass, adequate biomass source must be harnessed. EARLY TRENDS, CURRENT STATUS AND FUTURE PROSPECTS OF FARM During the last five decades Asia has made considerable development in the field of agricultural machinery. During the year 1960 the condition of mechanization was very poor and most of the farm operations were performed manually. A positive correlation between the farm power availability and the productivity was observed during past 3 decades for several Asian nations including China BEWARE OF PHISHING SCAMS REQUESTING PAYMENT TO CIGR Recently it was brought to the Presidium's attention and the Senior Editor, that CIGR members are targets of phishing scams. These are attempted via email by using legitimate email addresses from the CIGR members and asking for payment to publish a paper. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN INDONESIA: FACTS AND CHALLENGES The nature of agricultural production system in Indonesia is very diverse from shifting cultivation to intensive crop farming, from rain-fed to intensive-irrigated paddy field, from vegetables mix farming to monoculture industrial plantations, from subsistence small-scale farming to large-scale commercial plantation. The publication of research results and the exchange of information is central to any discipline. Agricultural engineers have the opportunity to publish in several journals dedicated to the profession and also in numerous peripheral journals serving other disciplines. As CIGR expands its horizons to more and more countries around the world, it serves the international membership by providing a low cost, widelyavailable journal.
Recent advances in electronic publishing provide a suitable mechanism for widespread dissemination of information. Thousands of journals are now being published electronically and are available on the World Wide Web (WWW). CIGR now has a peer reviewed technical journal operating on the WWW. There is no cost to the user to read or publish manuscriptsin this ejournal.
Two categories of papers are published: (1) original scientific and engineering research and (2) invited overviews of broad topics of interest to agricultural engineers.JOURNALS
