The Bruns Amphitheater, home to Cal Shakes, is a beautiful outdoor theater nestled in the hills of Orinda. Chanticleer will be seating at a reduced capacity and all seating will be socially distanced. However, patrons will be seated with their own group. Masks will be required. Music Director. TIM KEELER, Music Director, sang as a countertenor in Chanticleer in the 2017-18 season. In Chanticleer’s history he will be the fourth of its six Music Directors to have been a member of the ensemble. Prior to moving to San Francisco, Tim forged a career as MATINS FOR THE VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE Matins for the Virgin of Guadalupe. The sequel to Chanticleer's best selling and critically acclaimed Mexican Baroque recording, with more recently discovered choral masterpieces by Mexico City Cathedral's chapel master, Ignacio de Jerusalem. This recording brings to life one of the most monumental and elaborate choral works of the New World. ADAM WARD — CHANTICLEER Adam Ward. ADAM WARD, countertenor, is originally from Tecumseh, Oklahoma. At an early age Adam became fascinated with the voice of Patsy Cline. As a child he made a number of television appearances singing Cline’s songs. Mr. Ward began singing countertenor while studying French horn performance at ANDY BERRY — CHANTICLEER As an undergraduate, Andy directed the Yale Whiffenpoofs and served as an assistant conductor to the Yale Glee Club. He was born and raised in Cabin John, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C., and he now celebrates his (half) Japanese heritage living in Japantown, San Francisco. Andy is proud to return to Chanticleer for his thirdseason.

ZACHARY BURGESS, bass-baritone, is a native of Washington D.C. Recently he received First Prize in the Vocal Arts DC Art Song Discovery Competition, and as a result was invited to present solo recitals at the Phillips Collection and Kennedy Center for thePerforming Arts.

ADAM WARD, countertenor, is originally from Tecumseh, Oklahoma. At an early age Adam became fascinated with the voice of Patsy Cline. ANDY BERRY — CHANTICLEER As an undergraduate, Andy directed the Yale Whiffenpoofs and served as an assistant conductor to the Yale Glee Club. He was born and raised in Cabin John, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C., and he now celebrates his (half) Japanese heritage living in Japantown, San Francisco. Andy is proud to return to Chanticleer for his thirdseason.

During 42 globe-trotting, million record selling, Grammy winning years, 120 men have sung with Chanticleer. Our story begins around a dining room table in San Francisco in 1978.OUR ARTISTS
Meet Chanticleer's twelve singers, who come to Chanticleer from 9 states and many different backgrounds to create a seamless ensemble.OUR BOARD
Our mission of performing, educating, commissioning and recording is safeguarded by our Board of Trustees who faithfully support and govern our 501(c)(3) non profit. A new generation of philanthropists will soon be "on board" thanks to the Rueff Boardships program. COMMITTED TO EDUCATION COMMITTED TO EDUCATION AWARD-WINNING EDUCATION PROGRAMS With the help of individual contributions, foundation and corporate support, Chanticleer's education programs engage over 5,000 young people annually. Our offerings include The Louis A. Botto (LAB) Choir—an after-school honors program for high school and college students, in-school clinics and workshops, Youth Choral Festivals™ in the Bay Area and around the country, master classes for university students nationwide, the Chanticleer in Sonoma summer workshop for adult choral singers and more .
