BOARD LEADER CERTIFICATE COURSE BEGINS FEBRUARY 2021VIA LIVE WEBCAST
------------------------- If you live in a condominium, homeowners association, or housing cooperative, you know how important it is to have an effective governing board of directors. The _CAI BOARD LEADER CERTIFICATE COURSE (BLCC)_ is designed to provide a foundation for effective community association board leadership. Whether you are an experienced board member or just thinking about getting involved, this certificate will help you become a more informed and effectiveleader.
Community association board members and volunteer leaders step up to take on positions of service and responsibility. They're expected to anticipate issues, solve problems, meet expectations of their residents and protect property values. Earning the _CAI BOARD LEADER CERTIFICATE_ will help you become a more successful board member. You'll learn the role of the board, president, and other leadership positions, how to recruit and support volunteers, and effective ways to work with professional managers andservice providers.

FEBRUARY 3 - MODULE1: GOVERNING DOCUMENTS AND ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES. To start you on the right path, Module 1 helps you understand the legal authority for your association. It also clarifies the duties and responsibilities of each board member and the professionals who are available to assist the board. FEBRUARY 17 - MODULE 2: COMMUNICATIONS, MEETINGS AND VOLUNTEERISM. Module 2 helps you learn how to maximize volunteer involvement in your community association by improving board communications, conducting effective meetings and building community spirit. MARCH 3 - MODULE 3: FUNDAMENTALS OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. Module 3 introduces the fundamentals of association financial management including guidelines for protecting your association's assets, preparing a budget, planning for the future and collectingassessments.
MARCH 18 - MODULE 4: PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS. Because putting together the right team to support your association can be challenging, Module 4 provides practical tips on finding, evaluating and hiring qualified professional advisors and serviceproviders.
APRIL 21 - MODULE 5: ASSOCIATION RULES AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION. Module 5 explores guidelines for making reasonable association rules, enforcing rules fairly and resolving conflict effectively. Each Module will be presented via webcast from 6:30-8:30PM. The webcast format will consist of a live presentation of approximately 90 minutes followed by a live, interactive Q&A session with the attendees of approximately 30 minutes.
