The BSIF Safety Awards 2020 Winners. The BSIF Safety Awards 2020 winners were announced during a digital event on 28th April 2021. The delayed awards were hosted by comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan who delivered a fantastic routine before unveiling the successful candidates in the four award categories; Product Innovation, Safety Solution, Customer Service and Water PollutionPPE REGULATIONS
PPE Regulations. It has been widely reported across the health and safety media that the original PPE Directive has been replaced by a new PPE Regulation. We are now in a two year transition period for Member States to prepare for the introduction of this new Regulation. Dear BSIF Members, The European Commission has issued a notice concerning the effect of the UK leaving the European Union on all economic operators within the remaining 27 members, and also the implications for UK Notified Bodies and future product certification. REGISTERED SAFETY SUPPLIER To help combat this, the BSIF has created the Registered Safety Supplier (RSS) scheme. Companies displaying the scheme’s logo have signed a binding declaration that the safety equipment they offer meets the appropriate standards, fully complies with the PPE regulations and is appropriately CE marked. NOT OF AGM AGENDA ITEMS Item 1 Welcome by the Chairman. The Chairman, John Gill, welcomed those attending and explained the conduct of the Meeting. He confirmed with Alan Murray that a quorum was present, that no proxies had been received, and no additional agenda items proposed. The Fit2Fit RPE Fit Test Providers Accreditation Scheme is designed to confirm the competency of any person performing facepiece fit testing. It is a legal requirement that workers using tight fitting respiratory protective equipment (face pieces/masks) must be fit tested by a competent person. Companies displaying the scheme’s logo have signed a binding declaration that the safety equipment they offer meets the appropriate standards, fully complies with the PPE regulations and is appropriately CE marked.BSIF
