Southern New England OceanGrid Project Application. On April 30, 2018, a Right-of-Way Grant application was received from Anbaric Development Partners LLC. (ADP) for the New York and New Jersey, Ocean Grid. The application is for a submarine system approximately 185 nautical miles (NM) (213 statute miles) in length. Revolution Wind submitted its COP on March 13, 2020. BOEM will review the COP and approve, disapprove, or approve with modifications the proposed activities. If approved by BOEM, Revolution Wind would be allowed to construct and operate a wind energy facility between 704-880 megawatt (MW) offshore Rhode Island and Massachusetts withinthe OCS-A
STATE ACTIVITIES
State Activities. BOEM has seen very strong interest in offshore renewable energy projects on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). BOEM is working closely with several states regarding offshore energy development and is in the process of coordinating federal-state task forces in certain coastal states. These regulations provide a framework for issuing leases, easements and rights-of-way for OCS activities that support production and transmission of energy from sources other than oil and natural gas. Since the regulations were enacted, BOEM has worked diligently to oversee responsible renewable energy LEASE AND GRANT INFORMATION Leasing Studies/Reports. BOEM has studied different auction systems for issuing renewable energy leases, easements, and rights-of-way on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). BOEM issued a contract to Power Auctions, LLC to study different types of auctions for this purpose. BOEM published the study in three parts, and is available at the linksbelow:
