REPROTINT PAINT QC
Just noticed there is a Sea Horse emblem on the sticker under the outer sticker . I guess somehow at there factory they screwed up . I guess The Johnson dull aluminum isSEA KING SPARK PLUG
Yes, it is one of the shorter plugs since it does have the spark plug covers. All I can get out of it is an occasional pop. I cleaned and gapped the points, soldered on new plug wires and ends, and it had spark that would jump a 1/4 gap.CHAMPION J6J OR J6C
I believe it’s like a J6C. 823 & j6C have lateral (grounded) electrodes that end at the far edge of the center electrode. By contrast, the J6J (discontinued) has a lateral that ends at the center point of the center electrode. GALE BUCCANEER 5.0 HP i have a gale 1957 mod 5d148, 5.0 hp that is stuck. i am looking for a replacement power head. i know gale made these engines from about 1952 75 HP JOHNSON STINGER A man after my own heart – In the early ’50s I ran a modified Big Four on a 14′ Speedliner @ 54 MPH and in the early ’60s a modified V4 (with a "Fat Fifty" motor cover) @ 65 MPH – Have a blast . . .😆
NEED HELP REMOVING ELGIN IMPELLER Frank, thanks for your comments. The top part of the shaft came out fairly easily when I disconnected the lower unit from the leg assembly. I was able to get the gear housing and the lower unit separated by removing the little ring that holds the gear to the bottom of the shaft within the gear housing and then sliding the shaft out of the gear assembly. Our History. Outboard motors have been manufactured for over 100 years. Therefore, it is no surprise that a number of people should become interested in collecting antique outboards. 1956 EVINRUDE 15HP THROTTLE Q AND FOULING 1 day ago · Two questions here as referenced in the topic title, but will give a short known history of outboard. ELGIN VALUE
If I am looking at it correct, that is the 1.25 HP that was only made one year (’46 or ’47). I picked one of those up last year at a meet (not stuck and with better than average graphics) for $90, so your $60 for a stuck engine and what looks like a new paint job sounds like it is in the ballpark.
