Using Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, wrap yarn around book of desired length (mine was 6″/15 cm) 15 times and cut yarn. Cut 12″/30 cm strand of yarn and thread through top of loops. Tie knots. Cut another 12″/30 cm strand of yarn and tie knots about 1″/2.5 cm below top- hide ends with rest of fringe. CLOVER POM POM MAKER Since you get two different sizes in one package, each pom pom maker came out to be only $2.50 which I thought was a great deal! I purchased the Large set seen below which makes pom poms with diameters of 2 ½ inches/65 mm & 3 3/8 inches/85 mm. The Small set makes pom poms with diameters of 1 3/8 inches/35 mm & 1 5/8 inches/45 mm. AMIGURUMI FOR BEGINNERS Once you’ve got your basic circle, it is now time to increase around the circle with single crochets. The video below shows you how to a single crochet. Increasing the stitches around a circle involves doing more than one single crochet into one stitch (e.g. going from 6 stitches in the Magic Circle to 12 stitches in the next round, or two single crochets in each stitch). THE RIGHT SIDE OF AMIGURUMI The back side is generally more bumpy and fuzzy. The stitches also curve diagonally more steeply. For the decorative pink edging I did 2 rounds of single crochets, 1 round consisting of *Dc 1, Sk 1, Ch 1* around, and then 2 more rounds of single crochets (5 rounds in total).
