Sylvie Cordier. A beloved friend, colleague and activist. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved colleague Sylvie Cordier. Sylvie was a part of the ADD family for over 11 years and worked across various roles including in our programme, ITIDAL FRONTLINE ACTIVIST When Itidal was 13, she caught a rare disease which affected her legs. Her family was unable to pay for her treatment and she eventually lost the ability to walk. Despite her family’s protestations, Itidal left school and went to live alone. After years of isolation, one of Itidal’s relatives told her of an organisation he had found, run by BANGLADESH | ADD INTERNATIONAL In 1995 we began working with a handful of dedicated, exceptional disabled people. With limited resources, the growth of the disability movement since then has been phenomenal, due to the commitment and determination of disability activists. We now work with activist groups in more than 25 of the 64 districts of Bangladesh, coveringnearly one
