Maksim Isaajev (Russia) Cell 107 is one of the most popular cells in the hostel. Maksim Isaev, a Russian painter and stage designer, painted one wall of the cell with blue acrylic paint and created a picture with a scratching technique. This gave new life to the wall. The crosses in the image represent the countdown of days left inimprisonment.

Petra Marguč (Germany / France) The cell was designed by a German-born artist living in France. The cell is predominantly white and is filled with female inspiration. It is very bright and pleasant to stay in. A dark ceiling represents the night sky. Door handles on the wall represent the craving for freedom, the need to break freefrom captivity.

Irish-Slovenian cell. Aisling O'Beirn (Ireland), Franc Purg (Slovenia) The artists bought all equipment for the cell at a flea market. Books are wrapped into old maps, and furniture is painted over with illustrations from these books. There are frames on the walls with instructions on how to act during demonstrations.CELL 105 & CELICA
Pictures on the folding screen, sent by the painter Jure Zadnikar from Greece, represent the portrait of the Zadnikar family. An interesting feature of the room is the furniture that can be stored away* - the bed can be lifted or lowered with a winch, the wardrobe can be transformed into a table with two chairs, and the folding screen canalso be folded.

The authors of the cell are Slovenian artists, and they all belong the “Odprti krog” group. One of the main features of the room is a round window, which is actually a remnant of an attempt to demolish the whole building; the artists turned an opening created by a demolition attempt into a window, and thus symbolically changed a negative act into a positive one.CELL 119 & CELICA
English cell. Anthony Gormley (UK) The author of the cell is a sculptor, which is evident as soon as one enters the cell. The particularity of the cell is the partly glazed floor enclosing different statuettes. Anthony Gormley made the first sculpture (far left, upper corner) inCELL 102 & CELICA
Finnish cell. The cell is a fine example of Scandinavian design. All pieces of furniture are mounted on the walls, so the floor of the cell is completely unburdened. The artist wanted to have a small round window in the cell. Because this was not possible, a round opening was made in the wall, and the window remained square.CELL 111 & CELICA
Slovenian cell. Matej Bizovičar (Slovenia) Due to the attempted demolition, there was a hole in the cell that the artist turned into a window. The window is in the shape of a vulva, and it symbolizes a rebirth of an old object into a new life. The original view from the window showed bricks, which were also used when designing the cell.CELL 116 & CELICA
Slovenian cell. This cell has a unique feminine touch. The concept of the room is the eye – the shape of an eye is drawn onto the floor of the cell, while the bed bottom represents a pupil and iris. The most interesting feature of this cell is the round and raised bed. The walls are handmade and painted over with a depiction of ParisHOSTEL CELICA
