CANADIAN HONEY COUNCIL _THE CANADIAN BEEKEEPERS COUNCIL WAS FORMED IN 1940 TO ASSIST IN NEGOTIATING FAIR PRACTICES FOR LABELING, GRADING, AND MARKETING HONEY AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. THE FLEDGLING ORGANIZATION WAS UNDERFUNDED AND SLOW TO COMMUNICATE. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO RESPOND TO ISSUES OR DEVELOP THE INTERNATIONAL MARKETS THAT THE MEMBERS WANTED. IT WAS CLEAR THAT THERE WAS A NEED FOR A HIGHER PROFILE AND INCREASED INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION. IN 1970 THE CANADIAN BEEKEEPERS COUNCIL DECIDED TO CHANGE ITS NAME TO CANADIAN HONEY COUNCIL (CHC). CURRENTLY, THE CHC MEMBERSHIP CONSISTS OF REPRESENTATIVES OF PROVINCIAL ASSOCIATIONS WITH THE TOTAL NUMBER OF BEEKEEPERS AT APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MANAGING OVER750,000 COLONIES._

https://www.canada.ca/fr/emploi-developpement-social/services/travailleurs-etrangers/avis-covid-19.html.
À propos du guide : * Personnalisés pour les travailleurs étrangers temporaires en vertu du Programme des travailleurs étrangers temporaires. * Disponible en français, en anglais et en espagnol. * Les thèmes abordés comprennent : * des renseignements concernant la COVID-19, notamment comment la maladie se propage et les personnes plus susceptibles de développer de graves problèmes de santé liés à la COVID-19; * ce que les TET devraient savoir avant de venir au Canada; * les droits et les responsabilités des TET durant la période de quarantaine obligatoire, y compris les responsabilités de l’employeur ainsi que des conseils pour maintenir une bonne santémentale;

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/foreign-workers/notice-covid-19.html. We request that all employers use their established communication channels to share an electronic version of the guide with the temporary foreign workers they employ, including workers who have not yet travelled to Canada. As some individuals have a higher risk of developing serious health problems related to COVID-19 due to age or medical conditions, sharing the guide with workers BEFORE they arrive in Canada can help them make an informed decision about travelling to Canada in light of these risks. We also advise that all employers provide temporary foreign worker employees with a paper copy of the guide in the worker’s choice of English, French, or Spanish, and set aside some time to go over the guide’s content with the workers orally, with the help of an interpreter if needed. These actions will help minimize risks to temporary foreign workers’ health and safety, articulate to workers their rights and responsibilities while working during the pandemic and minimize disruptions in the workplace relatedto COVID-19.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in making the guide available and accessible to temporary foreign workers in your community and to those awaiting travel to Canada. In other news, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has a new temporary policy, which came into force May 12, 2020. The policy reduces the time it takes for a temporary foreign worker with an employer-specific work permit to change jobs. Find out more by readingthe News Release
