Secure one end of each in the chuck of a variable speed electric drill. Secure the other pair of ends in a vise, or vice grips, or between your spouse’s teeth. Using short bursts of the drill, spin them together until they have a couple of turns to the inch or so. A FERRITE ROD LOOP FOR NDB DX: GENERATION 3 A Ferrite Rod Loop for NDB DX: Generation 3. While I’ve had very good reception using my sky loop antenna, I wanted something that would have better low angle radiation sensitivity, for improved reception of distant stations. The sky loop is 670 ft in perimeter, and runs around the yard at a height varying between about 20 and 50feet
