Daniel Ziblatt is Eaton Professor of the Science of Government at Harvard University and since October 2020 the new director of the Department Transformations of Democracy. He has been awarded the 2019 Berlin Prize by the American Academy in Berlin and was Karl W. Deutsch Visiting Professor at the WZB from 2019 to 2020. BEYOND WESTLESSNESS? While the Munich Security Conference 2021 has to be postponed and will take place later this year, there will be an MSC Special Edition assembling some of the world’s most senior decision-makers for a TV broadcast on 19 February 2021. This event is the first in a number of virtual high-level events that will prepare the ground for the MSC

WOLFGANG SPORRER

Wolfgang Sporrer is a Fellow at the Hertie School.He used to head the Human Dimension Department of the OSCE SMM in Kyiv, where he lead the civilian aspects of conflict management and facilitated and promoted dialogue between the opposing sides.

MAIKE RACKWITZ

Maike Rackwitz is a PhD candidate at the Hertie School and currently a visiting scholar at the Blavatnik School, University of Oxford.Her research interests lie in digital and urban governance. As part of her dissertation, she examines the public-private nexus and its shifting

nature in cities.
