HERO DOG AWARDS
The American Humane Hero Dog Awards® are an annual, nationwide competition that recognizes the heroes on both ends of the leash. The category finalists will be honored on the nationwide broadcast on Hallmark Channel this fall. Seven courageous canines will be featured, and only one dog will be awarded the 2021 American Hero Dog title. YEAR 2021 : HERO DOG AWARDS K9 Kado is an amazing Police K9 but several factors set him apart. Kado has visited several nursing home facilities during Covid 19. The dog who wins the coveted title of 2021 American Hero Dog will be featured on Hallmark Channel this fall! MAREK : HERO DOG AWARDS Marek — Law Enforcement and Detection. Location: Appleton, Maine. K9 Marek didn’t start his path like most police dogs. He was bought by a family to be a house pet. However, they quickly realized he was a little more than they could handle. After much debate they returned Marek to the breeder, and that is where our story begins. ICE : HERO DOG AWARDS In the early hours of July 21, 2016 a team of Officers from the US Forest Service and Deputies from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office were investigating an illegal marijuana garden on public lands within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Two suspects attempted TY : HERO DOG AWARDS Ty, the K9 multitool, has spent his entire life serving his country (both in the US and overseas) since first certifying as a Human Remains Detection K9 with a national police service dog organization in 2010. Ty was certified to locate human remains on land, underground, underwater and YEAGER : HERO DOG AWARDS Sergeant Yeager honorably performed combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Improvised Explosive Detection Dog with the USMC. Yeager has been credited with detecting the locations of dozens of explosive devices. During his three combat tours, Yeager participated in over 100 patrols, and was tasked with clearing routes for hisfellow Marines.

Location: Novato, Calif. On Sept. 11, 2001, my guide dog (for the blind), Roselle, and I were working in the World Trade Center on the 78th floor of Tower One when the airplane crashed into our building. MAVERICK : HERO DOG AWARDS Maverick is a Great Dane who is following in the “pawprints” of his brother, Bandit, his hero who he has trained alongside over the last 4 years. In 2018 at the age of 1 Maverick became a therapy dog for the USO of Missouri, something he had been groomed for since hewas a puppy.
BOONE : HERO DOG AWARDS Boone — Therapy. Location: Butler, Pennsylvania. Boone survived heartbreaking cruelty as a puppy, which resulted in the loss of his back legs. His life changed when he was adopted by a family with a soft spot for special needs pets.
