FITNESS | HERMANN PARK CONSERVANCY Spanning 290 feet, this contemporary suspension bridge connects the banks of Brays Bayou in the Bayou Parkland area of Hermann Park. Named for a Conservancy founder, the bridge is an important link that connects the Park to nearby neighborhoods and to a 35-mile trail system. Formal rose beds have been a feature in Hermann Park since the earliest plans were made for the Houston Garden Center in the late 1930’s. These re-designed rose beds feature a broad range of antique roses: found garden roses, polyanthas, Chinas, Bourbons, teas, climbers, and roses which have received the coveted ‘Earth-kind’designation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS A professional photographer must obtain a permit for a photography session in Hermann Park by calling the City of Houston at 832-394-8805. Professional photography is not permitted in the Japanese Garden. All photographers must follow all posted Parks and Recreation Department rules and regulations. Hermann Park is open to the public for normal hours. However, effective Saturday, March 14, the train and pedal boats will be closed due to the emergency health declaration by Mayor Sylvester Turner for the City of Houston. The health and well-being of our park visitors is our primary concern. While Hermann Park remains open, please make sure to follow social distancing precautions and allow six feet between yourself and others in the Park. In addition, please only visit with your family or by yourself. The McGovern Centennial Gardens will remain open 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Pinewood Café will be open for takeout only 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. All group volunteering events and public programming are also canceled through April 30. BCycle Stations are also closed throughout thePark.

_KITE FESTIVAL _HAS BEEN CANCELED_._ The Hermann Park Conservancy Kite Festival, scheduled for Sunday, March 29, has been canceled. This is in the interest of public health, as well as to comply with Mayor Sylvester Turner’s emergency health declaration for the City of Houston. This year’s festival, set to be the 7th annual event, will not be rescheduled. However, we will continue with plans for this annual event in spring 2021.FIND OUT MORE >
COVID-19 MEASURES IN HERMANN PARK. To comply with the City of Houston's emergency health declartion, public programming events (including Tai Chi in the Park, Walk with a Doc, and Children's Story Hour) will be canceled through the end of March.
