To record your DD Form 214 you will need one of the following: * Copy 4 of DD Form 214; or * Any copy of DD 214 with a raised seal issued by the United States National Personnel Records Center; or * United States National Archives Form 13038. Alexander stated, "I have discovered that many veterans do not know about this service and did not have their DD-214 recorded. Although veterans may have recorded their DD-214 in their home town or in a county or another state far away from Gwinnett, you are encouraged to record them here as well. Effective January 1, 2018 Senate Bill 132 amended Georgia law for all civil case initiation and disposition forms for superior and state courts, which are available on the clerk's website. Title 9 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to civil practice, is amended by revising Code Section 9-11-133, relating to forms meeting requirements for civil case filing and disposition, asfollows:

The Judicial Council of Georgia, with the approval of the Supreme Court, shall promulgate forms to be used for civil case filing and disposition forms information; provided, however, that the general civil case filing information form and domestic relations case filing information form shall be required to contain an acknowledgment by the filer that the complaint and any exhibits or other attachments satisfy the redaction requirements of Code Section 9-11-7.1." On December 31, 2017, all state tax liens issued by the Georgia Department of Revenue which have been filed and recorded in any county in Georgia will become invalid, subject to renewal as follows. Any active state tax liens which were recorded or rerecorded within seven (7) years before January 1, 2018 are eligible to be renewed by the Department. Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section 15-6-67(b), effective January 1, 2017, requires that all plats and condominium plans submitted for filing with the clerk of superior court shall be submitted electronically. The clerk of superior court shall file and record plats and condominium plans relating to real estate in the county when submitted for filing as provided in this Code section and accompanied with any required filing fees or costs set forth in Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section 15-6-77. EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2018, all filing fees for maps and plats shall be paid through the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA) efiling portal at the time of submission. All maps and plats reviewed by and/or approved by the Gwinnett County Department of Planning and Development shall not be exempt from this filing fee requirement, and filing fees for all filers will be required at time of submission for recording through GSCCCA.org. The Supreme Court of Georgia recently approved a revision to the Business Court Division Ruleto
allow Superior and State Court systems to join Fulton County’s current Business Court Division . The State Bar of Georgia’s Business Court Committee explored numerous options to expand the Business Court Division’s model in the State of Georgia. After consideration of various models, the Committee agreed to a regional expansion approach which allows counties in the Metro Atlanta area to join. Gwinnett State and Superior Court system sought to be the first County to join the newly expanded Metro Atlanta Business Court. This newly developed expansion continues the Business Court Committee vision that businesses throughout the state would have access to a specialized business court to consistently and efficiently resolve complex commercial litigation issues. Pursuant to the new statute controlling garnishments, O.C.G.A. 18-4-20, the plaintiff or plaintiff’s attorney MUST MAKE APPLICATION FOR FUNDS PAID TO THE CLERK. Therefore, the clerk will require an ORIGINAL APPLICATION WITH ORIGINAL SIGNATURES FROM THE PLAINTIFF OR PLAINTIFF’S ATTORNEY BEFORE FUNDS WILL BE PAID TO THE PLAINTIFF. This applies in all courts. In addition, the clerk requires a Certificate of Service with original signatures or other proof of service upon all defendants along with the application for funds. In other words, both the application AND proof of service must be in the clerk’s file to proceed with funds disbursement with no exceptions. The application for funds is available on our website in the forms packets in both Magistrate Court and State Court . The service certificate is available as an individual document under garnishmentforms.

In Senate Bill 255, the General Assembly has substantially rewritten Georgia's Garnishment Code. The revised Garnishment Code includes O.C.G.A. 18-4-6(b) which requires the Attorney General to develop a list of exemptions from garnishment and maintain the list on the Department of Law's website. The list has been developed and is available at www.law.ga.gov/garnishment-exemption . In looking for ways to break down language barriers, the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit and Clerk of Court have added the Google Translate application to the Clerk of Court website. The Google Translate icon is located in the top right hand corner of every page. By clicking on the drop down list, litigants can select the appropriate language and Google Translate will convert the entire webpage into that language. The goal is to provide basic court information and foster a better understanding of the judicial process through language access before litigants get to court. The text further directs the recipient to call the number to pay a fine. THIS COMMUNICATION IS A BOGUS NOTICE. No one affiliated with the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit Clerk of Superior Court’s office nor the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office staffs send text or email messages to jurors of this nature. A Parent Seminar is a four-hour educational seminar required of specific domestic actions involving a child or children under 18 years of age where the parties are involved in a divorce, separate maintenance, paternity, change of custody, visitation, legitimation, and any other domestic action, excluding contempt, and generally,domestic violence.
The program shall be successfully completed within 31 days of service of the original complaint upon the original defendant. Appropriate action, including but not limited to contempt, may be taken upon a party's failure to successfully complete the workshop.
