KNITTING NEEDLE CASE Step nine. Place the front cloth on top of the backing cloth with right sides together and stitch all the way around leaving a 4-5 inch gap so tha it can be turned the right way out. Interfacing - Buttonholes need to be stabilised first, before the stitching is sewn and the hole is created, using interfacing. These scissors are different from regular fabric scissors as along the blade they have very tiny little teeth - that’s the micro serration bit. They are ideal for cutting fine and slippery fabrics as those little teeth grip the fabric and give you more control. APRIL MAKES FROM THE G&G PATTERN CLUB April Makes from the g&g Pattern Club. Blog / 14 April 2021. The g&g team are always busy with sewing and dressmaking projects on the go - easily done when you are surrounded by fabric all day and get to see what our creative customers have ordered for their own projects! So every few months or so, we spend a bit longer at our monthly team KNITTING NEEDLE CASE Step nine. Place the front cloth on top of the backing cloth with right sides together and stitch all the way around leaving a 4-5 inch gap so tha it can be turned the right way out. Make sure you don't catch the sides of the top flap as you stitch around. THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO BIAS BINDING Bias binding is a strip of fabric that is cut on the bias. This means that it is cut at a 45 degree angle to the selvedge of the fabric (and therefore at a 45 degree angle to the direction of the threads that have woven the fabric in the first place). Cutting the fabric in this way means that it has give and pliability so it can easily mould ADDING IN PIN TUCKS TUTORIAL Press the tuck out to the side. UNDERSTANDING SLIPPERY, FLOATY FABRICS FOR DRESSMAKING At the top end of this floaty fabric scale is silk which is made by the silkworn caterpillar. The silk thread is actually the cocoon the caterpillar makes for itself before turning into a moth. The cocoon gets unravelled and the thread it produces then gets woven into silk fabric. Then I pressed all the seams towards the pocket and top stitched the seam allowances together. This should hopefully help keep the pocket sitting flat at the opening.
