Grow Movement alleviates poverty, helping entrepreneurs build their businesses. Our volunteers mentor entrepreneurs and as a result the entrepreneurs run their businesses more effectively. This increases profits and creates jobs in their communities. ABOUT US - GROW MOVEMENT Grow Movement was set up in 2009 by Chris Coghlan. He felt compelled to assist those living in the developing world after studying the Rwandan genocide at university and witnessing extreme levels of human suffering when volunteering in Mozambique in 1999, the DR Congo in 2006 and Rwanda in 2008. RESULTS - GROW MOVEMENT Results. From 2010 to 31st March 2020. Grow Movement has measured its impact in a rigorous, independent Randomised Control Trial, considered the gold-standard for impact measurement, which featured in The Economist. In 2015, a collaboration of Stanford University, Chicago Booth and London Business School, part funded by UK AID, commenced anENTREPRENEURS
Grow Movement interviews all potential entrepreneurs. Dedication, motivation and ambition are key to your success. Fluent in English or French. Based in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya or Malawi. Access to remote communication tools e.g Skype, Zoom, whatsApp Etc.. Able to access good internet and can commit 2 hours a week for the programme for aperiod
VOLUNTEERS - GROW MOVEMENT Joining your entrepreneur in 8-10 mentoring sessions. Preparing, researching and reporting these sessions. Completing the sessions within 3-4 months period. Access to remote communication tools or paying for the cost of calls to a mobile phone. Being patient, determined and flexible with timings. Updating the Grow Movement ITsystem.
OUR TEAM - GROW MOVEMENT So she co-founded Grow Movement in 2009 with Chris. Thanks to her efforts with the rest of the team, Grow Movement has improved the lives of over 50,000 people across Africa and pioneered a new method of international poverty relief; coaching entrepreneurs over mobile phone. Violet holds a degree in business from Nkumba University. RWANDA - GROW MOVEMENT The Grow Movement team is based in Kigali and works alongside BDC Rwanda. BDC Rwanda is an international facility established to train and support entrepreneurs to start and grow successful businesses and works with hundreds of entrepreneurs in Rwanda and other countries.
