GRANDMA IDEAS
Summer Craft Round-up. Now that it’s almost summer, it’s time to think about ‘outdoor’ crafts that you can do with your grandkids. Crafts that you can do outdoors. Crafts that you can ‘display’ outdoors. I have four craft ideas for you. They are easy.DICE GAME: ZILCH
3 pairs = 1000. How to play: The first person rolls six dice. One or more scoring dice must be pulled out and set aside on every roll. The player must get 500 points before he can start keeping score. If he does not get 500 points, he gets ZILCH for that round and passes the dice to the player on his left. Add the peanut butter and stir until it is well mixed. Pour mixture over the Rice Krispies. Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper. Let cool. Eat. JUNK JOURNAL NOTEBOOK As it is, I made the notebooks and mailed them to my granddaughters. To make a junk journal notebook, you will need: a composition notebook. colored duct tape. PANIC: A FUN CARD GAME The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all of the cards. Everyone plays at once. If there is a card with the number one on it (if you are using Rook cards) in the row of 5 cards in front of a player, the player places that card in the middle of the table.If

Write and put on a skit with your friends. 15. SUPER EASY SODA POP CAKE To make the cake, empty the dry mix into a bowl. Then, dump the pop in. Mix it really good. Pour the batter into a well-greased and floured 9 X 13 inch cake pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Let the cake cool and then frost it. I used a Coconut Pecan frosting. Serve with Vanilla Bean ice cream. PLAY THIS CHALLENGING KOREAN GAME This is the first round. For the second round, she picks up two rocks every time she throws one rock in the air. In the third round, she picks up three rocks. In the fourth round, she picks up four. Now comes the challenging part of the game. She tosses all of the rocks in the air and then tries to catch them on the back of her hand. EASY AND YUMMY HARD TACK CANDY Easy Hard Tack Candy. Put the water, sugar, and corn syrup into a heavy sauce pan. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally. When it comes to a full rolling boil, turn the heat down to medium high. You do not need to stir the it while it is cooking. Boil until it reaches 295-310 degrees Fahrenheit on CREATIVE THINKING CHALLENGE FOR TWEENS AND TEENS Here’s how you play. A Charming Ribbon Bookmark. For several months, I’ve been wanting to make some bookmarks for 2 of my granddaughters. I’ve finally gotten around to making them. Those bookmarks are so charming — literally! They are simply ribbons with charms attached atSUMMER FUN IN A BOX

Add the peanut butter and stir until it is well mixed. Pour mixture over the Rice Krispies. Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper. Let cool. Eat. SUPER EASY SODA POP CAKE To make the cake, empty the dry mix into a bowl. Then, dump the pop in. Mix it really good. Pour the batter into a well-greased and floured 9 X 13 inch cake pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Let the cake cool and then frost it. I used a Coconut Pecan frosting. Serve with Vanilla Bean ice cream. 5 GREAT VARIATIONS OF TAG Kick the Can. Select someone to be It. Put a can (washed out of course!) in the middle of an open space. The other players run and hide. It closes her eyes and counts to 20. Then she opens her eyes and tries to find the other players. If she sees someone, she calls out that person’s name and runs and toFOX AND GEESE
Stamp down a four foot circle in the center of the wagon wheel. This is home — a safe zone for the geese. Select one person to be the fox (it). The rest of the players are the geese. The fox chases the geese along the trails in the snow. All players must stay on the trails at all times. Players cannot jump from one trail to a CELEBRATE NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH KIDS Wear glow in the dark necklaces made out of the sticks! Then, come in and warm up with hot chocolate and donuts. Play Zilch. Play Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Play the Cup Rythm game. Play Panic. Play the Candy Bar game. Last night we were spontaneous (yes, we are spontaneous on occasions). NATIONAL KNOCK KNOCK JOKE DAY The team with the most points wins. If your grandchildren are younger, you can have them draw slips of paper out of a plastic pumpkin and just tell the joke. You could make bingo cards with the some of the words from the jokes. Then, have the grandchildren take turns reading the jokes. If they have a word from the joke on their bingo card, they TEA CUP BIRD FEEDER CRAFT So here’s how you make this awesome bird feeder. First, sand a spot in the middle of the bottom of the saucer. This helps the glue to adhere really good. (It’s easier to sand the saucer now before the tea cup is glued to it.) Turn the saucer right side up. Squirt some glue around the indentation where the cup sits. GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD GAME Ghosts in the graveyard is a fun night game for kids to play. It's a game of of tag in reverse where those in hiding (the ghosts) try totag other players.

Begin another round starting with the next person after the player who got rid of all of her dice. When someone gets rid of all of her dice, that’s the end of that round. SUPER EASY SODA POP CAKE Cooking is a great activity to do with grandchildren. They learn so much — fractions, measurements, how to follow a recipe. (And of course self-control because 5 GREAT VARIATIONS OF TAG I’m not familiar with all of these, but freeze tag was definitely a favorite. What you described as Amoeba tag we used to cal Link Tag. I have also seen line tag, which is played in a gym and you have to stay “on the lines” only making it more challenging – of course most peoples don’t have a gymanisum in their yard, but you could always use sidewalk chalk to draw a “course” inFOX AND GEESE
Fox and geese is a fun game of tag to play in the winter! Stamp out paths in the snow, decide who will be the fox and who will be geese,and then play!
