The Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) mission is to get more people playing tennis more often, and part of its role is to govern tennis in Great Britain, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man by acting as guardians to promote and safeguard the integrity of the sport. This has a lot of synergies with our tennisstrategy.

The first of its kind in UK leisure. GLL was born. Seven centres were transferred to us, and success quickly followed. We created jobs and added new services to existing leisure centres. Since then, we’ve built lots of new facilities in the UK and our membership has gone from about 7,000 to more than 850,000 with 58 million visitors a year.SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK The event helped support older people in Tower Hamlets to combat isolation. Invitees had a chance to socialise, make new friends, watch the entertainment, and dance with the GLL staff. The event was organised after consultation with Tower Hamlets Council and the wider community. Around 175 people came – including 50 people who livewith dementia.

The Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) mission is to get more people playing tennis more often, and part of its role is to govern tennis in Great Britain, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man by acting as guardians to promote and safeguard the integrity of the sport. The first of its kind in UK leisure. GLL was born. Seven centres were transferred to us, and success quickly followed. We created jobs and added new services to existing leisure centres. Since then, we’ve built lots of new facilities in the UK and our membership has gone from about 7,000 to more than 850,000 with 58 million visitors a year.SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
For GLL, this is what being a charitable social enterprise means to us: We don’t have shareholders like private companies, or any bonuses to pay out. Instead, we invest any surplus money we make back into our services. So far, we’ve invested millions of pounds into sport and leisure. We act as a charity and are are here for the goodof the

DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK The event helped support older people in Tower Hamlets to combat isolation. Invitees had a chance to socialise, make new friends, watch the entertainment, and dance with the GLL staff. The event was organised after consultation with Tower Hamlets Council and the wider community. Around 175 people came – including 50 people who livewith dementia.
