The love for music, details and perfection inspired Henning Gladen to develop loudspeakers and crossovers in the nineties. This led to the founding of the GLADEN brand name in 1997. Today Gladen Audio introduces technologies into his new designs that are more commonly used in Aerospace and Automotive industries. For instance, FEM Analysis was used to locate and improve the weak points in a basket design. This resulted in a unique asymmetric die-cast frame of which each blade is shaped differently depending on its individual load.> Simulation-video
Our ZERO AEROSPACE systems use this new multilayer cone technology. Seven different layers with distinct properties are combined to form a lightweight, well damped but rigid cone that has strongly reduced resonances compared to other cone materials. This newly designed dust cap was shaped differently in order to equalise the frequency response in the high midrange. This improves the overall sound quality – just more audiophile! These crossovers allow you to optimise your GLADEN speaker system by adjusting it to the acoustics of your car. Not only the level can be adjusted, the slope and even the filter Q can be changed as well. Instead of the usual 4 Ohm, most GLADEN speaker systems have a 3 Ohm impedance. When driven by an amplifier, a GLADEN speaker system will get more power from the amplifier then a common 4 Ohm system. Whenever the system is driven by the headunit directly, the small diameter cables that are commonly used increase the total impedance to around 4 Ohm. In this case the power supplied to the speaker system is still increased compared to a 4 Ohm speaker system. GLADEN speaker systems that have a 2 Ohm impedance are designed to be driven by a separate amplifier in order to achieve the maximum performance possible. The GLADEN amplifiers are made for this job as they are perfectly capable of driving a 2 Ohm load while staying in control over the attached speaker system. Keep in mind that GLADEN amplifiers bring up to 65 % more power when driven into a 2 Ohm load. GLADEN speakers are built with the best materials available in order to meet the highest standards. This includes fiber- and compound cones, Nomex spiders, aluminium die-cast frames and soft domes for ourtweeters.
