CURIO GIN - CORNISH ROCK SAMPHIRE GIN REVIEWED BY GIN FOUNDRY Curio Gin has 15 botanicals in its line up: juniper, lime flower tea, star anise, fresh lemon peel, fresh lime peel, seaweed, rock samphire, nutmeg, cinnamon and coriander amongst them. The spices were very deliberately added. “We both have Asian heritage, which has an influence on our creations,” Rubina confided. AVIATION GIN EXPERTLY REVIEWED ON GIN FOUNDRY Aviation Gin, served up in a beautiful bottle reminiscent of the Great Gatsby era, caused quite a stir when it was released just over a decade agoThe years since may not have been without turbulence, but suffice it to say Aviation is a gin that has traveled the world and was one of the early pioneers in this new era of craft gin. INVERROCHE GIN RANGE REVIEWED ON GIN FOUNDRY Inverroche Gin is one of the first distilleries to emerge onto foreign shores from the new wave of South African gin makers, that have been steadily creating a bustling gin movement on the southern tip of Africa.. The story of Inverroche Gin began in 2007, when mother and son duo, Lorna and Rohan Scott, began experimenting with a 1.7L copper pot still affectionately known as “Mini Meg”.TARQUIN'S GIN
Tarquin Leadbetter, creator of the eponymous Cornish gin, has been busily expanding his range over the past couple of years. In 2016 alone he treated fans of Southwestern Distillery to several new releases, including the Seadog, the Nomadic, the Hopster and the Tonquin. Needless to say, with our relentless public fanboy/girling over Southwestern Distillery, we were excited to try them. GIN FOUNDRY REVIEW OF FOUR PILLARS GIN, THE YARRA VALLEY When it launched back in 2013, Four Pillars Gin was amongst the first wave of craft distillers to produce a gin in Australia. Though early to arrive, the Four Pillars team didn’t exactly jump the gun; rather, they and their peers loaded up the pistol and aimed it at a scene that was on the very cusp of explosion.. Four Pillars is the brain child of wine making and marketing duo Stuart Gregor FRUIT GINS FEATURED BY GIN EXPERT OLIVIER WARD ON T4 50ml Williams Pink Grapefruit Gin. 20ml fresh pink grapefruit juice. 15ml HoB Cucumber syrup. 12.5ml fresh lemon juice. Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water top. METHOD: Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with cubed ice. Double strain into tall glass over crushed ice. Garnish with fresh cucumber and pink grapefruit slice. GLENDALOUGH WILD BOTANICAL GIN Striking many notes, from herbal to floral to fruity, the gin will appeal to many tastes, and though the Pound is a quivering wreck at the moment (therefore Euro pricing can be a little difficult), Glendalough, at around £32 a bottle, is fairly priced. APIARY GIN FROM TAMWORTH DISTILLING REVIEWED BY GIN FOUNDRY This is no surprise, though – of the spirits released by Tamworth Distilling last summer, Tamworth Garden Apiary Gin proved to be the most popular.
