DHW LIGHT FLASHING YELLOW The DHW will not flash green. The yellow light means one of 2 sensors is holding out DHW operation. It is safe to run in heat as the DHW will not effect normal heating operation. If the yellow light does not go away (say after a day or 2 of operation) I would have the dealer take a look at it. You could reset the unit, but I doubt if it willhelp.
CALCULATING GENERATOR SIZE We loose power often during the winter so we need a generator to run the system in the event we loose power. I am trying to determine the minimum size generator to run the system (without causing damage). We are looking at putting in a 3 ton unit. According to the specs the LRA is 82. Based on my calculations that comes out to just over 17kw's. HOW TO ADD WATER TO A CLOSED LOOP Look at their pictures of the fill and pressure checkers to get a good idea of the concept, then buy the needle adapters and a trip to lowes or simmilar will get you the parts you need. 1 word of caution, prior to boosting via the needle valve, be sure to purge the air from the hose connected to the faucet. Eric. waterpirate, Feb 24, 2013. CONNECTING GEO TO HOT WATER HEATER A typical whole home tankless electric water heater capable of supply 3-5 gpm of hot water would be rated in the range of 24,000 to 28,000 Watts. That is 100A to 120A at 240VAC. A standard 200A home electrical panel and service may not be sufficient considering other loads on thepanel.
INSTALLER POURING SAND ON TOP OF GROUND LOOP PIPES BEFORE Sand or stone dust/screenings is used when it is difficult to get good compaction around the loops and to protect the loops from any sharp rocks. Moist sand is actually a little better conductor than moist silt/clay at 0.9 vs 0.75 BTU-Hr-Ft. If it stays completely dry, then silt/clay would be slightly better at 0.5 vs. 0.35, but this is rare. WATERFURNACE PROBLEM the modules are programmed for WaterFurnace so unfortunately carrier modules wont work. The reason is the communication function that waterfurnace has on their boards. You can just replace the module if you cant get the thermistor replaced yourself. Motors are expensive, modules are not. Michael, Jun 24, 2010. #16. LOSING LOOP PRESSURE Over the winter I ran around 20psi, with the temps getting down to 40F in the loop. Now that summer is here, my loop is around 60F, and the pressure dropped down to around 10psi. LOOP TEMPERATURE
1) The purpose of the ground loop is to bring the entering water temperature within the operating range of the heatpump. 2) Geo heatpumps generally run with entering water temp from 20-120F, although the loops are usually designed to go down to 30F in the winter and up to 90F in the summer for efficiency purposes. LOSING LOOP PRESSURE Over the winter I ran around 20psi, with the temps getting down to 40F in the loop. Now that summer is here, my loop is around 60F, and the pressure dropped down to around 10psi. I pumped it up with my domestic to 24psi, and now it has slipped down to 18psi over the past 3 weeks. COMPARING CLIMATEMASTER AND WATERFURNACE 3) In comparing CM 30/45 or WF 5/7, the efficiency numbers look better for the variable speed compressor units. And it appears that ClimateMaster has a slight edge on numbers when compared to WF looking at open loop numbers for all units. WATERFURNACE PROBLEM the modules are programmed for WaterFurnace so unfortunately carrier modules wont work. The reason is the communication function that waterfurnace has on their boards. I like the idea that some will monitor which room you are in and adjust the temperature output so that the room youre in is set for your comfortable temperature and adjust to reach it rather than focusing on the whole house if one room steals more heat or cold than FRIEDRICH GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM First off would like to say Hi to everyone. Have a chance to buy a home (2nd owner of the home been there since 1999), owner says it has a Friedrich Geothermal system and has been operating fine since it was installed by the first owner when the home was built in 1981. 0.35, but this is rare.15KW VS 20KW HEATER
I informed the general contractor (new construction) that this needed to be changed only to have the HVAC guys come to hook up a 15kw heating element. They decided to use the 15kw because it only requires one wire while the 20kw would require an additional wire run.
